Sorry, in no series, Dirk was better than Kobe, but as the group , the mavs couldn’t miss. JJ barea killed us

Kobe was playing on an ankle that was sprained twice in five weeks, no first step in that series. Dirk was a demigod that year, hands down the best player in the Conference during those playoffs.

It's on LBJ to rally these guys even with his big night ending in a loss. Even though they've been cold, 5-32 and Portland hitting 4 pointers in the 4th will draw closer to averages.

Kuz and Davis also had some unlucky touch and Caruso made the guards work. I'm confident they'll shoot at least 30% from outside from now on and continue to play sound defense. Yes Portland's guards and bugs will push them, but Davis won't start cold every game either. Lakers in 6.

Blazers defense is not good enough to win this series unless the Lakers aren't playing at max effort or can't psychologically do so for some reason. The team the plays hard will win, and if they both play hard Lakers will not lose the series.

Good news is I believe we have more room for improvement than they do. Our defense is consistent in the bubble.

Held them to 100 points and took some crazy shot making by dame and CJ to win. We shot poorly...even for our standards. 15% from 3 will lose you games 99.9% of the time, I don’t care who you are...even with that we were in it until the end.

Play Kuz and Morris a bit more...sink a few more threes earlier to open up lanes for Lebron and AD. They have been playing basically playoff games since they’ve been in the bubble...this is our first playoff game.

Our defense seems stable...and our offense has no where to go but up. Not time to hit the panic button...yet

have we shot good once from 3 in the bubble? probably not, so not confident we win this.

Dame and CJ can get theirs on our guards at any time while Lebron AD cant since they keep clogging the paint and shooters gone cold. tough series

Sorry but disagree...Dirk was the man in 2011. Best player in the playoffs that year.

The Blazers didn’t even look that good tonight. They made three shots in the second quarter and were still leading going into the half. Three. We shot almost historically bad and were still up six halfway through the fourth quarter.

This game was on us. Ask me again after game 2.

No. Not because we can't. But because the Lakers don't play like they want it.

That was the only series in which Kobe faced Dirk and Dirk's team swept. Dirk was the best player in that playoffs and thus, that series.

Next one is crucial. If we lose 2nd game the series is over. Hope I am wrong.

Dirk played better than Kobe in that series. It’s ok, he played better than Durant and LeBron in the next two series two. He balled.

These poll results are depressing.

Without AB and any semblance of shooting proficiency, this #1 seed team is worse than the 2018 Cavs.

Look at it this way, the Bucks might be in more trouble than us. The Magic didn’t do anything special outside of Vucevic and led the entire game.

We can only hope our defense continues to make them work even when our shots begin to fall. Can’t get into a game of trading buckets. I expect a much better game from AD. Unfortunately, LeBron actually had a great game overall. That is the only concerning thing. He nearly had a 20-20-20 game...

Lakers need to close this out in 6. If it goes 7 games, blazers will win.

Blazers in 5 or 7. We're slow and can't hit an outside shot to save our lives. I said the minute we signed Danny Green...that was the worst signing of any team in the off season.

Lakers have done quite a good job on the defensive end, especially after Q1. Lillard and Blazers were red hot before the game and in the Q1 in fact but has been silent then.

AD is the man to blamed. He is the man supposed to carry our offense but he has done good enough today.

KCP could be more aggressive. He could do some playmaking works alongside LeBron and try to hit some mid range jumpers like AB did. AD, LeBron and Green spaced the floor well for him.

We may miss Rando. He could help to control the pace and release LeBron from playmaking job sometime.

Our defense is really good. And Blazers couldn’t match our duo superstars

After seeing the score of Nurkic of Trail Blazers at the end of game, I saw Kuzma's hands go up in disgust. The Lakers seemed to walk off the court in disgust and disappointment.

This is fine because sometimes that is needed to wake a team up..and this happen to teams no matter how good they are..the Lakers team of 2001 lost their first game of the finals against a young energetic 76ers with Iverson after going undefeated in the playoffs till than.

The difference with championship teams is how they response..we will see if this Lakers team has that championship spirit.
