Most of those minutes will also have to come when Dame sits. Doubt Dame sits more than 5 minutes per game.

That lineup should get most of the minutes. Green if he’s hot from 3.

I couldn't disagree more. Defense has been our strength all season. Play each of the big men around 20 minutes a piece. Play Lillard tight on the perimeter and try to force him to drive into our bigs. We even the playing field trying to match them in a chuck fest. Everyone in the world knows they want to shoot threes. Force them to play in between the 3 point line and the paint.

That’s fine. There are different approaches, but what happens when Howard and McGee don’t have the foot speed or agility to contain Lillard or McCollum on those PnR and double teams?

The Blazers will hunt those matchups. I think the 2 series that we won’t see Dwight or JaVale too much are against the Blazers and Rockets in round 2 if that matchup happens.

I’m sure Vogel will play JaWight McHoward, but he will have to have a quick hook against these types of teams.

Actually Dwight has done very well in P n R...in fact, sometimes knocking the ball loose. His slides well for a big unlike McGee who really is just a shot blocker and horrible one on one defender. IMO when the bigs help on PnR someone better box out Nurkic.

If you play the big men you will have two shot blockers on the floor at all times. If they pick and roll Mcgee/Howard, have them play the 3 ball and force drive. If they get beat Anthony Davis is waiting on them. It would totally take them out of their comfort zone because they want to shoot a lot of threes.

Is it just for theatrics that they list LeBron and Davis on the injury report every game?

Yeah, besides Houston which makes complete sense to not play McGee pretty much at all we need to make other teams adjust to us. I think he should and will play limited minutes anyways in this series but Howard is completely capable of handling himself as well as most centers in the NBA in PnR. He actually surprised the hell out of me a few times earlier in the year and caused turnovers or solid stops consistently when he's really engaged.

KingRandle said it best though, even if he does get beat you got the possible DPOY behind him guarding the basket which he should be able to do quite often against Portland.

I think we'll see several different looks throughout the game. After they win game 1 people will be saying "where was this defense during the bubble?". I see us winning this one even if we do shoot the 3 really bad and it will take Lilliard breaking Jordan's Playoff record to pull it out which wont happen.

Hope we start this series by smashing the Blazers in a blowout with a LeBron 40 point triple double.

ooo baby we're close. Haven't felt like this in a loooong time. Not since 2010, given how awful the team looked heading into '11 and, well, we all know what happened in '12. you smell that smell fellow lakers fans? larry o'brien's coming home and it begins today.
