I don’t think you can play JaVale and Dwight more than 10 min on average in this series.

Most of those minutes will also have to come when Dame sits. Doubt Dame sits more than 5 minutes per game.

KCP
Caruso
Kuz
Lebron
AD

That lineup should get most of the minutes. Green if he’s hot from 3.

Does AD want to bang with Nurkic?

He needs to do what is important for the team not what his wishes are. Go there and do everything you can to win. Show character and superstar pedigree. This is not anymore about individual performances.

Exactly...that's why I see Dwight getting minutes. You don't want AD in foul trouble and exerting to much energy on the defensive side banging with Nurkic. Leave that to Dwight.

The 8-game warriors all had big games yesterday, so I'm expecting Dame to have a good night as well.

I couldn't disagree more. Defense has been our strength all season. Play each of the big men around 20 minutes a piece. Play Lillard tight on the perimeter and try to force him to drive into our bigs. We even the playing field trying to match them in a chuck fest. Everyone in the world knows they want to shoot threes. Force them to play in between the 3 point line and the paint.

No one in the league can guard the best players one on one. You do it using teamwork and intelligence.

That’s fine. There are different approaches, but what happens when Howard and McGee don’t have the foot speed or agility to contain Lillard or McCollum on those PnR and double teams?

The Blazers will hunt those matchups. I think the 2 series that we won’t see Dwight or JaVale too much are against the Blazers and Rockets in round 2 if that matchup happens.

I’m sure Vogel will play JaWight McHoward, but he will have to have a quick hook against these types of teams.

Actually Dwight has done very well in P n R...in fact, sometimes knocking the ball loose. His slides well for a big unlike McGee who really is just a shot blocker and horrible one on one defender. IMO when the bigs help on PnR someone better box out Nurkic.

Portland would have no chance if we change our line up

PG.LeBron
SG.KCP
SF.Kuzma
PF.Morris
C.Davis

Literally switch everything on defense. On offense where would they hide CJ and lillard? Davis would bring out their C out of the lane and make them worse on D.

On offense swing the ball and make them work.

This is a exciting time for Lakers Nation, every one on this team has a reason to win a championship and the guys who really need a championship is Howard and AD I expect both to really play at a high level, we know what we are gonna get from LeBron.

I am more confident in Howard being able to defend in those matchups than McGee for sure.

I just think the emergence of Kuzma as a pretty good wing defender changes the dynamic for the Lakers. He is quick enough to switch on anyone 1-4 and he is long enough to bother both Lillard and McCollum.

McGee will probably see the least amount of minutes among the regular rotation guys, but I get it we can maybe steal a few good minutes with Dwight.

Still a little nervous about how we will start. The starting lineup has been trash, I'm really hoping Vogel keeps Kuz in the starting lineup but think there is zero chance he does.

Kuz is better on wings defensively than small guards, but with his size he should be able to play off and contest and he can make Dame/CJ work defensively on the other end.

Javale has also been a disaster, let's hope Vogel has a real quick trigger with him.
