Billy Mac made a good point, Lakers entering the bubble needing to only win a game to secure 1st in the bubble, then Vogel using the rest of the games to just cruise and experiment with lineups really broke the flow of this team.

Blazers however were playing intense basketball with set playoff rotations since entering the bubble just to make it to the playoffs really prepared them for the actual playoffs.

Vogel plays Waiters in 7 of the 8 games in the bubble, averaging a healthy 24 mpg, basically the backup SG.

Then Game 1 of the Playoffs, Waiters isn’t even the 9th man, he only gets subbed before halftime and plays 1 min.
