I see all these pictures of people dining with masks on and just don't understand what the appeal is... Why not just get delivery? _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

No. And I won't be for a long time in any of the large urban areas. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

I have. A frequency of once every week or two. It's basically getting takeout and sitting at an isolated table outside. The restaurants I have gone to provide dine-in in to-go type containers and pre-packaged utensils.
Pro's:
Time - 40 minutes to cook and another 20 to clean up vs. waiting 5-15 minutes once you get there.
Exercise - We walk as a family. Getting the kids out of the house but isolated from all of the neighbor kids is difficult and time consuming. This provides an outlet and a motivation for the kids not to (bleep) the whole time they're out.
Mental reset - 4 months of the same 4 walls requires a change every once in a while. Especially since it's looking like we're not even half way through.
Delivery is 5-10 dollars extra and Grubhub/other takes 30% of the price. I'd rather the money go to the small businesses so they might be there when things truly open up again.
Con's:
Many places aren't setup correctly so we can't get takeout or dine-in. The cash registers are 2 feet apart. There's no or insufficient out-doors seating. You have to be prepared to change plans and walk away.
Marginal COVID risk increase since you are exiting your house.

No bars no restaurants for me and my girl. We only do social things where we can vet the participants and expect compliance with safe measures. _________________ “We must always take sides. NOPE! Never was much for eating out. Only did it now and then. Until there is concrete evidence how to avoid COVID-19 I'll do the cooking. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

No.
Although we have considered outdoor dining at specific places but have not as yet. Would be a rare treat IF we do it. _________________ “There is always light if only we're brave enough to see it, if only we're brave enough to be it.” --Amanda Gorman

No. I have a wife and son both with much higher than normal risk factors for Covid to do this. I've seen too many pictures of workers in the kitchen wearing masks but not covering their noses, or not wearing masks at all.
We used to eat out all the time. It was pretty much what we did for entertainment. The good news is my wife has discovered some fantastic, restaurant quality recipes and we've had some incredible home cooked meals.

Nope. And I feel bad for the restaurant workers this pandemic is hurting. Either they go to work and get yelled at by COVIDiots when they tell them to wear their mask. Or they don't have work at all to begin with. It's a lose-lose situation. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”

I'm smack dab in the middle of NB with that "type" of crowd so you'd think we'd run into a lot of those instancesbut we've never had a single issue with mask compliance. Neither have any of the local businesses around here. The media makes it seem like every business is being run over with these mouth breathers. _________________ KOBE

Must be a place by place thing. I know people who see it every day. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”

Some doing takeout are doing very well. I don’t know if there are any Urbane Cafes down south (they opened one in North Hollywood yesterday). My daughter is one of the managers in Ventura and pre-COVID they would do $10,000 on a good day. Now doing takeout they are doing $8,000-9,000 every day.
As for the poll, I haven’t dined in and don’t plan on it anytime soon. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

I would only consider it for outside seating only. No inside dining for me at all. _________________ So glad we gave you your flowers while you were here, Kobe.

Good stuff! Please post any recommendations in the cookbook/recipe thread. _________________ Under New Management
Nope. Probably won’t be dining inside for a long time. Have been cooking a lot since March, will get restaurant take-out (or drive-thru with CFA or INO) when I don’t feel like cleaning.

I'm a do it from scratch cook but I sometimes try new things. I downloaded https://www.allrecipes.com/. They email recipes daily. I try them now and again. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
