Why?

Because that's where they'll end up in 30 years time, anyway, so why not do it now?

Because holding the copyright is useful in controlling the legacy, and they used their right to do that. Yes. Someday those books will be public domain, just as they are available now used in large quantities. But the estate wishes to address and not only not participate, but not facilitate their further release. and even the current copies become collected and are then out of circulation. Their motive is pretty good and pragmatic.

Would you cease the production and release of new copies of the movie Swing Time, which includes a dance number with Fred Astaire in black face, if you were the film's copyright holder?

I probably would, but there are arguments other directions, just like Holiday Inn. The books they ceased weren’t big sellers and represented his “racist period” which he apparently outgrew and was remorseful for later. I think it is a win win for his legacy both in business and human terms. There will be a few generations of kids not exposed to it as well.

Which are worse Aholes? The Tomahawk ribeye loyalists, or those who insist the BrahMos Filet Mignon is the ultimate tastebuster?

I think he's a bad actor in general.
But an above average action movie actor for that time. I'd definite take him over Steven Seagall.

He was good in Predator. I've thought that for many years and Predator was the only movie I've ever been to with a full audience and a standing O at the end and a big part of that was for Arnie. He had the goods and he coulda been Laurence Olivier, but no one would've taken him seriously because of his accent and appearance. It would've been a waste of time for Arnie to even bother trying to increase his bona fides as Pacino called it in Once Upon A Time....

No one could say he could only do Conan or future cyborg killers, tho I think his original Terminator was more realistic to the notion of a future cyborg than the nicer one he was in T2 (tho I love both flicks to death). In T1, the scenes where he had no eyebrows (after running thru a fireball that Reece caused by shooting a gas tank in the Tech Noir alley) were really cyborgy. The get out scene and the one where he was listening to the police scanner and heard the dispatcher reference Reece's car and he spun the car around. He was scanning around like robo Arnold. He didn't have that affect or appearance in T2 to me. Or any of the following Ts.

There was a C movie from the late 80s on the other day in the wee hours. I had never seen it in my life, but it was a comedic HS slasher film w/ Brad Pitt. Kind of like a completely and utterly turrible attempt at Scream. Pitt has come a LOOOONG way as an actor since then. He was so wooden then that he coulda served as a pretty cigar store Indian. In less than 20 years, he was probably at his peak in the Jesse James pic.

His FUs are hilarious. The scene in Running Man where Dawson tells him, "You're going to appear on the show tonight." Arnie: "Blaahp you." Dawson/Killian: "Heh heh heh, you're a great conversationalist, Ben..."

I sometimes have conversations in my head where I go back and forth on becoming vegan.
Our country's large livestock population has an effect on climate change.

Also, is it immoral for humans to farm animals just for consumption? Especially since, we can live without meat.
What if a more advanced alien species came down to earth and treated us like livestock? Wouldn't everyone say that's evil?

I guess you could argue if humans went vegan. We'd still be murdering life. It would just be plant life.
Even if we just lived off supplements and water, the casing for the supplements would probably be made out of some sort of organic material.

I hear you. I’ve become more flexitarian, concentrating on reducing my animal product consumption and moving to more sustainable sources. But the reality is, if you go to more natural and holistic meat production, it actually uses more resources (particularly land). The whole world can’t eat like we do and have the resources to sustainably produce it, ironically even less so wit the grass fed and free range methods.

I think steroids and HGH should be legal and morally accepted, as long as they're safe for use under the supervision of a medical professional. They work, there's no question about that. It's just the question of whether they're safe enough for use as directed.

In fact, if steroids and HGH are safe for use under supervision, I think they should be recommended for serious athletes who are early in puberty and may have a chance of turning pro. They should also be encouraged for use for late bloomers and people who are shorter than average so that they can grow taller and bigger. That would lead to greater intrinsic self-esteem, which will lead to more success in life.

I find "cancel culture" extremely entertaining. I don't participate in it but I definitely don't renounce it either.

Oddly enough, the ones who renounce it hardest are those who engage in it the loudest.

Yep to you and Muley. They're good natural w/ a little butter and a tiny dash of salt, but they can be amped much further by roasting. George HW Bush hated broccoli. He stated it in a press conf, "I'm the President of the United States and I don't have to eat broccoli if I don't LIKE it and I don't LIKE broccoli!"

I was gonna say that turnips and rutabegas are disgusting, but that's not exactly a controversial opinion.

A very controversial one is that spinach is gross by itself. A lot of people can eat that soggy green stuff like it's soft serve, but it makes me gag to even think of it. If it's mixed into other things, then I can tolerate it or not even notice it's there.

Controverisal? The Sopranos is still the greatest series ever, including over The Wire. I've seen both all the way thru and tho I enjoyed a lot of The Wire, I don't think it topped The Sops, tho it came close. Everything else, The Sops beats out.

Yea or nay?

Nay. And I love the sopranos. What makes the wire tops for me is its immense literary aspirations, to tell the story of the rise and decay
of western civilization through a single city, and to nail all the objectives so well down to the tiniest character.

The bolded is legal as far as I know. But most people can't afford it.
