Well, considering his last disappearance was a result of misogynistic posting and now he's decided to take up race trolling, I think we can call it a day

So it's your contention that it is OK for a law enforcement officer to kill a drunk driving suspect on the spot for attempting to escape? Particularly when they could have arrested him at a later time?

Yeah that's exactly what I said. /s]

Your sarcasm was clearly aimed at the idea letting him “walk it off’. The obvious message from that is that the alternative was what occurred, to make sure he didn’t, at all cost.

Have some integrity. Just (bleep) own it man. If you’re going to talk ugly, be the ugliness that your words carry. There’s no point in doing otherwise.

Ok, I’ll bite. What WERE you saying? It looks an awful lot like manufacturing a case of hypocrisy where none existed (to wit: you provided no evidence that anyone in this thread has ever said other drunk drivers should be punished by extrajudicial execution, or that they are against the suspect/victim In this thread being prosecuted, fullest extent or not).

Seems what's lost in translation is the George Floyd factor. It's not about drunk driving, it's about killing a unarmed Black man. The intent is lost to another issue. Shades of Colin Kaepernick.

Garrett Rolfe is being held without bond.

Louisville has initiated process to fire one of the cops in the Breonna Taylor shooting.

Mr Schroeder is accused of “blindly” firing 10 rounds into Ms Taylor’s house, displaying “an excessive indifference to the worth of human life”.

"Excessive indifference", guess if he had only fired 5 times it would have just been plain indifference.

He certainly knew it before it was Seneca Village, which was a predominantly black, self built community that thrived before it was leveled for the park.

You surprise me DMR. That's a part of Black History not know by a lot of Blacks.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Amazing.. the only place they could find available eh??? sigh.. have to keep them down...

How much was Manhattan property worth back then and how much would it be worth right now if they owned the land the white people got to keep by destroying Seneca Village instead of their own?

You know they found some way to pay them 1/1000th the value for the land too.. and broke up their cultural centers..

I imagine many people think Slavery and Violent Racism in America was a Long time ago... Everyone of those KKK and Racist killers were somebodies brother and father and uncle and grandfather and potentially politician later in life still sprouting off their hatred and racism.. reproducing it...

https://www.citymetric.com/skylines/new-york-destroyed-village-full-african-american-landowners-create-central-park-893

Quote:
But there’s another side to the story. By the time the decision to create a park was made, there wasn’t enough empty space left in Manhattan. So the city chose a stretch of land where the largest settlement was Seneca Village, population 264, and seized the land under the law of eminent domain, through which the government can take private land for public purposes. Residents protested to the courts many times, against both the order and the level of compensation being offered for their land; eventually, though, all were forced to leave.

Two thirds of the population was black; the rest Irish. There were three churches and a school. And 50 per cent of the heads of households owned the land they lived on, a fact conveniently ignored by the media of the time, who described the population as “squatters” and the settlement as “n***er village”.

Then there’s the question of what might have been. At the end of the Central Park plaque, there’s an apparently innocuous line, noting: “The residents and institutions of Seneca village did not re-establish their long-standing community in another location”.

The right to peaceful assembly is enshrined within the Constitution. Engaging in mass public protests is the very definition of working within the system.

All local and state police officers must wear body cameras by 2023
Body camera footage must be made public

Chokeholds are prohibited

Shooting at fleeing suspects is prohibited

Deadly force can only be used if a person's life is imminent danger

Police must report every instance in which they stop someone who they suspect of a crime; they must also include that person's race, gender, and ethnicity

Police must report other officers for wrongdoing

Officers can be held personally liable for damages up to $25,000 if they are found guilty of violating an individual's civil rights

That's a decent start, but true reform has to run far deeper. It needs to involve a wholesale change in the role LE plays in certain situations. For example, domestic violence cases need to involve conflict resolution experts, not a collection of armed cops. Petty crimes (like Floyd passing a bogus 20) need a response team of officers whose only role is to cite, just like a speeding ticket or jaywalking ticket.

The biggest get is this though:

"The bill also states that 'qualified immunity is not a defense to liability,' blocking a practice that is common nationwide."

To me, that's far and away the most important piece. We can put more and more regulations on LEO's but taking away the shield they hide behind when committing misconduct is the biggest step to accountability.
