When this is all over. I think I'm gonna do a Vegas trip. What's the best plan to make money gambling while there?

Whatever you do, don’t gamble more than you can afford to lose, don’t get super drunk and then wander around by yourself at night or you’re asking to get robbed, and don’t play the 3 card monte games outside because they are a scam.

As for poker, unless you are experienced and have studied the game a lot, you shouldn’t expect to win much unless you get lucky (like any other casino game). Poker rooms across the country keep taking more and more morey out of pots, and this makes the games much tougher to beat than people realize.

Vegas poker rooms also have a lot of tight, cautious regs even at the lower limits compared to games in other parts of the country. If your strategy is to be patient, wait for good hands and hope to get paid off by a sucker, that could win some money, and it’s your best chance to win money (so this probably should be your strategy), but don’t expect to crush the games when some of the other players have the same gameplan and might execute it better than you do.

I’ve seen more wild gambling in the 2-5 no limit games, but they also have a lot more pros and experienced grinders.

If you’re not confident in your poker abilities, don’t buy in for the $300 max. Instead buy in for around $100-$200. Bigger stacks give you a chance to make bigger errors and some spots get much more complicated. You’ll also make yourself a bigger target for the better players; they will see you as an inexperienced player that is giving away $300 and they are there to take that money from you. Sure, you won’t win as much when you double up, but you also won’t lose as much when you double someone else up.

Some players say to always buy in for the max, but you should consistently be one of the top 2-3 players at the table when you do that, or be a pretty decent player playing 2-5 or higher.

Most inexperienced players play way too many hands, call too many preflop raises and chase way too much after the flop. If you think king-ten offsuit is a good hand, then you are calling way too much.

If you do buy in for $300 (or even $200), don’t go broke with one pair. Even if you have ace-king and make a pair, if someone looks like they want to play for all your chips, you’re probably behind (unless they are playing really recklessly). If you don’t have many chips in front of you, then going all-in with something like top pair, top kicker isn’t as bad. If you have a tiny stack, then you want to get all-in with those hands.

I’m not sure how skilled you are so maybe you know a lot of this stuff already.

Great advice. I used to play a ton in the aughts (worked on my game at a small Joint with old time regulars who played tight aggressive and colluded, and then made cash at the new joint filled with Phil Ivey wannabe fratboys), and a few times in Vegas. Always hard to win in Vegas. Lots of sharks.

From a friend who seems to win everytime:

When you are winning, put some of your chips away so that you will know when to stop and won't gamble away all your winnings. Better yet, get a friend to hold those chips for https://freemodafinil.com/modafinil-make-you-smarter/

If you lose three in a row, get up and go.

That being said, though, some people are just luckier than others. For some reason, I only seem to win when I am gambling with his money with syndicate. I always lose my own money, even though I don't do anything differently.

I think I've heard some hotels have better odds on blackjack (dealer has less cards to work with), roulette is like 40% chance you win right?, or maybe you guys got some tips for texas hold'em?

I'm pretty sure that 95% of Vegas Tourists arrive home with LESS money then they left with.

So the real thing you should be considering is: How much money can I afford to Lose?
