I think I've heard some hotels have better odds on blackjack (dealer has less cards to work with), roulette is like 40% chance you win right?, or maybe you guys got some tips for texas hold'em? _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”

My new favorite game is $5 no commission baccarat. These tables can be hard to find. $5 tables are not common, tables that are both $5 minimum and commission-free even less so. The Flamingo has them on occasion, but it's hard to predict as to when. We went right before all of this (week of march 10th) and I used the dragon bonus bet which is 40x to make $700. A paltry sum, maybe, but +$700 at a $5 table was 2 hours of absolute joy.

Planet Hollywood had 3:2 blackjack the last time I was there with a $25 minimum. All of the other major casinos were at 6:5 odds unless you were betting $100 minimum.

Don't sit at a table if you're there to try and make money. It's not going to happen in any predictable fashion.
Do some homework and learn a game so you are comfortable with the ins and outs and sit down to have fun. Play smart and you might just walk away up. If you really want to have fun, learn the rules of craps and how to play odds bets - it's a way to cut the house's edge. When you get several numbers covered and someone goes on a roll, you can make a good amount of money. Craps is by far the most fun when the table is lively, but it's not a game where you want to camp at one table for a couple of hours. You can make money at blackjack if you follow perfect strategy, count, and ideally play in teams (see the book Bringing Down the House and the movie 24, which is based on Jeff Ma's group from MIT).
Other than that, like others said, there's a reason the hotels in Vegas are so big & richly appointed.
My best recommendation would be to learn to play poker well. That way, you're playing against other people, and not the house with their built-in advantage. Four out of five times, I'll make money when I sit down at a table in Vegas (last time, I tripled-up in two hours). I'm not going to hang with pros at the big games, but I'll do well against the typical Saturday night drunkards.

All I can tell you is I have always had better luck @ Planet Hollywood in Blackjack....and they always had reasonable minimum tables even in the peak hours (reasonable on my budget....I am not starting off with a $100 bet in blackjack). Everywhere else, I always seem to win a few, and lose more.....but I have had multiple good nights at PH.
The one place that I literally do not think I ever won a hand.....or at least never 2 in a row was in the Downtown area....the old casinos near Fremont like the Golden Nugget. I swear it felt like they were cheating in some manner....I would buy chips, and the dealer would take them at a rapid pace. Also their floors are crowded which does not help when the dealer keeps cheating and taking your money!
If you want to practice and try out strategies during the day....down where the old strip was (I think that is what it is referred to...down past Wynn and Trump) @ the Stratosphere & Circus Circus, they always had $1 tables until like 5PM. I always sharpen my skills there.

If you're so worked up on winning money, odds are you likely won't.
I'm not a crazy gambler (and only really play blackjack), but I've found I've won the most when I'm relaxed and having fun with a good group at the table.
One time I really wasn't even paying attention (just in the moment chit chatting with the people at the table and the dealer) and when I finally looked down, I was up $800. I really wanted to just hit $1000 and then I would've walked away (or so I said ). Whether it was me tensing up or just the fact that the deck was evening out, I ended up losing the next few hands in a row. I luckily dragged myself away from the table without encountering further damage...lol

I’ve had success at the Cromwell during the week. Plus it is an interesting boutique hotel. It is much more difficult winning on the weekend. My wife and I typically win playing roulette, which has the worst odds. Go figure. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

have a story so similar, I could almost copy and paste....just replace the $800 with $700....think it was a $15 table at PH and I literally started with $30 in chips after a heavy night of drinking....but I lost about half before a female friend drug me out of there with about $370. I am not a big gambler either....so $340 winnings is in my HOF.
Find the saddest, most broke down- down on their luck lookin people at the slots... pick the machine right next to em and watch the cash come rolling in.
Honestly though, if you go there TRYING to in big, chances are , you won't. Just try to have fun and make sure you aren't gambling with money you can't afford to part with.
I have had luck playing blackjack ($10 min) with those little extra bonus plays. There will usually be a spot for an extra chip next to your regular bet and if you get 2 of a kind or something like that you double your bet. I can have $100 last me several hours like that.

Yep. It's a hit and run game. That's kind of the fun of it though. If you play aggressively but wisely and get someone on a lengthy run, you can make some good bank in a short time. I have had sessions where I hit a table for 15 minutes and walked away with as much as a grand because I've had numbers covered, odds bets and the roller got hot. It's not the norm, but it can happen. And it's definitely a game where when it does, you walk away right away. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

Wrong! I had a cab driver that took me back to the airport in Vegas that was a professional card pla.....wait
***funny thing....I have seen her on ESPN playing in the World Series of Poker a few times since then.....was not at the final table if I recall, but I guess she was pretty good.

I had a friend who I haven’t seen in years, but he went to USC business school, graduated, and was unhappy with his job prospects, so he became a grind it out professional gambler. He would play poker 8 hours a day. He told me as long as he didn’t go to the higher limit tables (where the competition was better), he knew he could grind out a living wage to support his wife and kids. He could be destitute not for all I know...I doubt it though.
