He ran for president in 2004. He made the mistake of choosing Sarah Palin as his running mate.

Joe's the reason we don't have universal healthcare (Medicare for all) right now. He was THE holdout that caused it to all fall apart.

I don't have anything nice to say so I'll leave it at that.

Sarah Palin was John McCain's running mate in 2008.

I don't think Lieberman even made it to the VP selection stage when he tried to run for President in 2004.

Palin and Lieberman weren't even the same party...

Yeah. He went from Gore's VP, to getting primaried in 2006, to running as in independent with a chip on his shoulder, to speaking at the RNC in 2008 for McCain. McCain wanted him to be VP, but ended up being forced to take Palin.
