Profar's homer just kept riding, I thought it was just a fly out.

This Dodgers team needs to find a way to score runs without Seager. They're not exactly exuding confidence right now.

Turner's defense is going to bite us this year. Especially in the first rd when it's only a 3 game series.

3 errors in 18 games so far, 1 error every 6 games. On pace for 27 errors in a full season.

But, but, I was told by the Dodgers that his defense was improved! LOL.

Wasted Strip outing and again no bats to back up the starting pitcher...not even Seager can fix this mess. But as you know Dodgers are typical slow starters out of the gate, just maintain pace until Sept. and turn on the jets!

We've only played one good team so far, the Padres, and we're 2-3 against them.

call me a sour loser, but at this point, i hope they just cancel the season due to COVID, obviously players' hearts are not in it.

I'm trying to rationalize the tepid offense as well. It might be one of those spring training things, when vets show up unprepared, using all of ST and the early season to get into shape. I'm sure the lack of fans in the stands is a factor too.

I don't have any analytics, but my eyes are telling me that this team is pressing. Lots of long fly ball outs, like they're undercutting the ball in an effort to carry the club single-handed.

Bellinger hit into another DP in the first inning, his third one since last night's game. He needs about 3 days off so that he can go to the cage and go back to his old stance. This really, really isn't working.

Dodgers got a couple of runs in the 5th with some smallball to take a 2-0 lead. Gonsolin was great through 4.2, striking out 8, but Roberts lifted him at over 80 pitches and with Tatis coming up. Treinen struck out Tatis.

Bellinger continues to look awful up there. He just popped up an 87 MPH center-cut fastball from Davies to the left side of the infield, and he actually jammed himself on it and hit it weakly.

Bellinger gets a line drive double to fall to LF, scoring one and making it 3-0. Chance to open it up here.

And JT hits it out! That will break it open, 6-0 now. And Jansen doesn't have to come in.

Fantastic job by Jansen. Even hit 94 with one of his non-cutter fastballs. Saves Alexander's ERA!

Jansen looked sharp. Best outing I've seen from him this season.

Too bad he couldn't be rewarded with a save, when u inherit a bases loaded, no outs jam with those runners representing a true save situation but oh well.

A couple things might have a bearing on this. One of the announcers mentioned that the players are only getting a limited time to workout at the stadium on game days so there is no "extra hitting in the cage now*. Also because of the Astros MLB no longer allows batters or anyone else to check video before or after at bats during the game. Hitting is down overall maybe this has something to do with it. That and an un-juiced ball.

Had it been 5-0, he would have gotten credit for a save, because the tying run would've been in the on-deck circle. But at 6-0, no such luck.

What’s your theory on un-juiced balls and grounding into DPs?

because there was no pressure. i think Jensen folds when pressure's on because he doesn't have his usual stuff anymore.

Yeah, he's struggling. The DPs can be explained from the eyeball test. Bellinger has lost his confidence. He's second-guessing himself at the plate, swinging at balls he shouldn't, and one of the byproducts is frequently not hitting the ball squarely when he does make contact. It's a classic slump, he'll be fine. He just needs a good night or two to get back on track.

Oh there's no denying he's been a train wreck. He looks totally lost out there. I just think that the lack of extra work time might be a reason he cat pull out of this slump. The un-juiced balls was more of a comment on lower power numbers league wide.

Guess who's "back"!

M. Betts, RF
C. Seager, DH
J. Turner, 3B
C. Bellinger, 1B
A.J. Pollock, CF
M. Muncy, 2B
J. Pederson, LF
C. Taylor, SS
A. Barnes, C

Love this order, besides the obviously necessary return of Corey (in the 2 hole!), Muncy moves down to take pressure off him and Barnes earns a start as he's been improving!
