All in all seems fixable. |
Our boy over there in Milwaukee is having similar issues. Funny how things work. They just walked Huira to face Yelich bases loaded. Albeit lefty lefty but this would have never happened last year or the year before. Oh and he struck out looking. |

Graterol allows a bloop hit. I'm telling you, no one barrels him up. |

Hardest-hit ball he's allowed. Opposite field single to left. 4-3 Padres. |

Ferguson just came in and allowed two hits on two pitches to the two biggest scrubs in the MLB. Abraham Almonte and Austin Hedges. |

I don't like that Roberts pulls Graterol at the first sign of trouble. Let him finish the inning. It's not like pitch count was an issue. That's the second time he's pulled him early and inherited runners scored. He treats him like he's barely on the roster and I don't like it.
Shocking that I'm complaining about Dave Roberts, I know. |

Don’t worry Pagan has been awful. Time to tee off. |

Bellinger homers on an offspeed pitch to right. 5-4 SD. Still 3 outs to go. |

Buehler shouldn’t have come into camp so far behind. He’s paying for it right now. |

No he said he made a decision to not throw during the shutdown.
Quote: | “With Walker, he took some time off with the uncertainty, and that was his decision. [Pitching coach] Mark [Prior] was in tune with it,” Roberts said. “The build-up period for Walker is just going to take a little bit longer.
|
Quote: | Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts explained that was due to Buehler making a decision to stop throwing during the MLB shutdown, which pitching coach Mark Prior was aware of and on board with.
“Just uncertainty in the schedule and I took off playing catch for a week, so not that big of a deal,” Buehler said Tuesday. “Just trying to build up again. It’s just when you’re going through a pandemic and don’t know what you’re going to have on the other side of it, I decided to take a week off.
“And it wasn’t like I went rogue, we had some conversations and I got back on a throwing program and things like that so I feel good and ready to go.”

No. He chose not to throw at all during the shutdown, unlike most pitchers apparently, so the Dodgers brought him along very slowly. He was rusty at the start of last year too. I'm not worried about him. I'm more worried that we're a +29 in run differential and are only 7-4. |

Another give away game, pitchers whiffed and the offense couldn't put anything substantial together, Mokkie is due back soon, right?!? |

Yeah, it’s not about being worried about Buehler. It’s about giving away games because he’s not sharp. So far he hasn’t been sharp in his 2 starts. |

In 6 March/April starts last season, Buehler had a 5.22 ERA (even though his record was 3-0), and his K/9 and his strikeout-to-walk ratio were both by far the worst of any "month" last year. |

Yup, I remember that. Maybe he's a slow starter. All the more reason to try and not fall behind the curve to start the season.
6 starts this year is 1/2 the season. |

The announcers were just raving on and on about Justin Turner's defense this year. They said:
1) He's having amazing defense this year
2) That he went to driveline this offseason and it's done wonders for him
3) Dave Roberts said his arm's the best he's seen it in awhile (or something).
4) They were just raving about how good his arm is and how nimble he is this year |

Huge knock by Seager today. 4-2 dodgers bottom 8th. Treinen in to blow it. |

Just watched the game on DVR. How ironic that feeble Austin Barnes' 20-foot dribbler got him aboard on the error and then Pollock hits for Joc and has a great AB with the double to give us the lead!
The Dodgers can talk up Turner's defense all they want, but they aren't fooling me.
As for your lineup above, I think Bellinger is coming out of it. I've seen some good signs over the last 3 games. He's turning on pitches much better now, even on a couple of his outs he's pulled balls hard. I'd still have him cleanup and I'd probably drop Muncy to 6th for now. I like your first 3, though. To me, Betts is a natural leadoff hitter who happens to hit the ball harder than most leadoff men, and with Seager looking like our best hitter at the moment, he should get the #2 spot after Betts and before JT. |

I don't claim to be a baseball expert, but looking at the link below, would this be a better batting line-up?:
1) Pollack
2) Betts
3) Seager
4) Bellinger
5) Turner
6) Taylor
7) Muncy
8) DH
9) Catcher

I try not to bash Barnsey, he is above average pitch framer and still probably the fastest running catcher in the game, albeit if he ever gets on base to show of that speed! |
