Kobe was never convicted of Sexual assault.
the victim had sex with another guy less than 15 hours after the alleged rape
the victim refused to testify in the court.
Kobe was 25 when he was alleged of rape
Kobe settles civilly acknowledging he acted as an adulterer
Kobe acknowledge he made this mistake while Vanessa was pregnant with their child and took onus of the stress that resulted in her miscarriage
Kobe passed at 41 years of age, being a #GirlDad to 4 beautiful girls, still happily married to Vanessa who forgave him for his transgressions 16 years after the fact, had countless adoring woman athletes and strong woman non-athletes (like Beyoncé & Ms. Granger) mourn his loss and he lost his life doing what a great father would do in taking his daughter and her teammates to a game that he was suppose to coach at.
For all his basketball accomplishments, the one aspect of Kobe I respect the most is how he made amends and actively and humbly changed the narrative of his perspective with women. He rewrote his story and used the MambaMentality to achieve it through his own hard work and efforts.
If people choose to reflect on the negative, instead of observing how the man atoned, then so be it. Meanwhile, we should learn from that man and make amends for our own flaws in the manner he did. #KobeIt
I went through at least 12 years of my 37 year life defending him against this. As passionate as I can be in my convictions. And from the start, when I purchased my "Free Kobe, Still My Hero" T-Shirt back in 2004 from some obscure website, I have believed him. I always have, always will. End of story. _________________ I miss you Kobe. I miss you Gigi.
Kobe’s Redemption after Eagle Colorado Controversy
Now it can be told: I knew the name of Bryant's accuser long before it was leaked by Internet trolls because, in a prime example of how small a state Colorado actually is, my mom was a friend of her grandmother. As a result, I heard things that I couldn't report then and won't report now, beyond noting that there's absolutely no evidence, in my view, that the woman was looking for a quick payday.
Bryant, for his part, seemed to genuinely learn from his errors, and over the years, he became arguably the most prominent booster of women's basketball — a mission likely inspired by his four daughters, including Gianna, seen with her dad in the following video, from 2017.
These efforts weren't simply publicity stunts. Bryant put in the time to build mentor relationships with the likes of Oregon's Sabrina Ionescu, whose reaction to his death was utterly poignant.
Although cynics may dismiss this gesture as a canny PR move, I see it as a genuine expression of Bryant's maturity. True, he was so beloved that the public simply chose not to believe the worst about him, much as they supported Peyton Manning, whom a female trainer at the University of Tennessee once charged with shoving his naked ass in her face. But since Eagle County, Bryant really seemed to have made an effort to become a better person — and in his post-basketball career, marked by a 2018 Academy Award for the short film Dear Basketball, this process accelerated.
We can't know what Bryant would have done with the decades that should have been left to him. But in death, he offers hope that people who've made mistakes can make up for them. In the #MeToo age, debate continues about whether the likes of Denver's T.J. Miller should ever again be allowed a public platform. But at last night's Grammy Awards, held in the Staples Center, where Bryant's jerseys hang in the rafters, host Alicia Keys, a fervent advocate in the fight against sexual violence, called Kobe a hero.
That's a long way from Eagle County.
The only view I would disagree with the reporter is that the accuser was definitely looking at a payday:
Kobe’s Accuser told friends she wanted to open a Recording Studio and buy a Koala Bear and Breast Implants for her and a friend with Award Money before the Start of Trial
A month after a woman accused NBA star Kobe Bryant (search) of rape, she told friends she was considering suing him in civil court and wanted to buy breast augmentation surgery and a koala bear with any award money, according to court documents released Friday.
The now 20-year-old Katelyn Faber (search), who asked Eagle County prosecutors to dismiss the felony case against Bryant after deciding not to testify, had sought to remain unnamed in the federal civil case, as she did in the criminal one.
These latest details about Faber's alleged plans for award money came in testimony from Sean Holloway (search), who knew the then-19-year-old woman from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley.
During a closed hearing March 2, defense attorney Hal Haddon (search) asked Holloway about a conversation with the woman near the end of July 2003, about a month after the alleged assault. The hearing was to determine whether information about the woman's sexual activities could be used in court against her.
Haddon asked whether the woman had mentioned the possibility of a civil lawsuit.
"She said that after the case was over it something that she was most likely going to do," Holloway said.
He testified the woman, an aspiring singer, wanted to use any award money to open a recording studio and to pay for breast augmentation surgery for herself and a friend. He also said she would buy a koala bear for another friend who liked the animals.
It is unclear whether District Judge Terry Ruckriegle (search) had ruled on the prosecution's request to limit Holloway's testimony. Prosecutors dropped the case against Bryant on Sept. 1 after the woman said she no longer wanted to participate.
The woman, now 20, has filed a civil suit against Bryant in federal court for what she says have been months of pain and suffering since the alleged assault at a Vail-area resort where she once worked.
If you were a rape victim, wouldn’t you want to see your attacker jailed? She didn’t care about any of that, she wanted the award money and told her friends months before the trial was even set to start. In the end, she got what she really wanted, a civil lawsuit and $2.5 million, enough to buy her breast implants and koala bear.
Kobe was only accused and that was it. He’s probably a victim of this as well.
Case was dropped by the prosecutor because the evidence and testimonies of the accuser’s own friends and co-workers were damming her. More damming was that the accuser confessed to lying to detectives to make her story more believable. Their only hope was for her to testify which she wouldn’t.
People calling Kobe a rapist are simply put: Idiots. Just shows that they have no clue about the subject. Worst are some of the women (I.e Evan Rachel Woods) who don’t even know details behind the story nor have done any research behind the subject they’re attacking and just hide behind the #MeToo movement assuming every man accused is guilty before proven innocence. _________________

Followed the entire case daily and read every legal document available to the public so I could be 100% sure of what happened. No way I could support a rapist if that's what Kobe was.
Kobe didn't rape that person...
That person was no victim...
She made herself available to Kobe even though she was supposed to be off work.
She let him hit.
She then goes back and constructs this plan with her PWT boyfriend.
She has sex with her boyfriend right after being allegedly raped (Come on...I've worked with many true victims of rape, there is no way a woman who's been raped wants anything to do with sex after being raped...just...doesn't...happen)
Forensics on her panties finds DNA semen from Kobe, her boyfriend, and a 3rd person unidentified
Kobe didn't rape that person...he did make some horrible mistakes that day...but rape wasn't one of them.
Think of Sharon Stone & James Woods in Casino if you want a damn good idea of the type of people these 2 criminals are. _________________ "If You're Afraid To Fail...Then You're Probably Going To Fail."

He was called that from 2004 onward his entire career. Every time he played on the road, fans would aggressively chant "no means no" or scream obscene words at him every time he touched the ball along with the chorus of boo's. Thankfully, he had such passionate road fans, they would drown them out every time he did something amazing, which was often. Even at home, I remember in 2005 being at Staples for a game against the Bobcats or someone, I can't quite remember, and some drunk idiot near us was yelling obscenities and a few larger fans behind us weren't having it and basically shut the guy up, in front of his woman none the less, which made him look even more like a complete idiot. The psychological impact of being called that word amongst your peers when playing the game you love must of been extreme motivation for this guy to want to win, because what else can he do at that point? He wasn't a tuck your tail between your legs kind of a guy. The furthest thing from it. He went out there and used the adversity and whatever mistakes he made and bettered himself as not just a player, but as a man. How can that not inspire anyone who has also made mistakes in their life? That despite the adversity, despite feeling like you're at the bottom of the barrel, you too can one day be back at the top of the mountain. The work that he put in to becoming a hero and inspiration for children across the planet is inspirational. I will never forget how much this man meant to me and my family and friends. Never. _________________ I miss you Kobe. I miss you Gigi.

Three different men's semen samples in her panties she brought to the rape kit and her friend was going to testify against her because she knew she was doing this for the cash
All is not that cut and dry.
Yes that girl had flawed character, however Kobe did issue a apology, so not everything was consentual. Even he probably realized it then during the event and after, otherwise this case would not have been settled.
If u read his apology it stops short of saying I did it.
Kobe was not god , he was human and and as humans we all make bad mistakes. Some we can get over others we regret for the the rest of our lives.
All said and done now is not the time to discuss this event.
Kobe had a good 41 years of Fame and success, the 3 children lost in the tragedy really pains me. Their lives were just cut short before they could see the world on their own.

It's very cut and dry Kevin. It can be settled to avoid a long and drawn out trial. Enough with the insinuations. You're not going to get many people here who agree with you so take your nonsense elsewhere. _________________ I miss you Kobe. I miss you Gigi.

Exactly.
Kobe was flying back and forth from Colorado to a Lakers game on the same day, during March, deep into the season playing for Playoff seeding. Kobe a known workaholic couldn’t even get a practice in, he would literally arrive to a game mins before tip-off. The accuser settling for a $2 million payday to drop the case and let all this go away? No brainer. That’s peanut change for Kobe. _________________

I think tHat statement by Kobe was put out there as part of the settlement, they would likely have no case even in a civil courT without that. Basically a secret hand shake on settlement.

He didn't apologize for it not being consensual, he apologized for adultery and the entire situation. Nothing I ever saw him say made me think he admitted to it not being consensual - unless there was something he said I'm not aware of.
As far as settling...there's a lot of reasons as to why he would settle. Getting it over with, getting back to his life and not having to worry about a trial, to avoid the 'black man rapes white woman' narrative in the trial itself, and not risking letting a jury decide his fate.
