Just more of making America great again.

We're 100x greater than even the second pace countries!!

Well, to be fair, I did not include other countries, including countries with more deaths. I cherry-picked, thinking of Europe and other major countries.

I did not include Brazil that had 1,007 deaths. If the Trumpsters want to compare the US to Brazil, I am totally on board. But I don't really think they want to compare Brazil's fascist to ours.

Then again, they just might not care.

We're expendable. Our deaths from Covid don't matter to the Repugnicants.

The way this administration handles covid the only things that will save us is a vaccine and Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

It's even going after our server. Told ya DB you gotta go with the bleach, blue lite and hydrochloride.

Across the United States, at least 200,000 more people have died than usual since March, according to a New York Times analysis of estimates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This is about 60,000 higher than the number of deaths that have been directly linked to the coronavirus.

As the pandemic has moved south and west from its epicenter in New York City, so have the unusual patterns in deaths from all causes. That suggests that the official death counts may be substantially underestimating the overall effects of the virus, as people die from the virus as well as by other causes linked to the pandemic.

When the coronavirus first took hold in the United States in March, the bulk of deaths above normal levels, or “excess deaths,” were in the Northeast, as New York and New Jersey saw huge surges.

The Northeast still makes up nearly half of all excess deaths in the country, though numbers in the region have drastically declined since the peak in April.

But as the number of hot spots expanded, so has the number of excess deaths across other parts of the country. Many of the recent coronavirus cases and deaths in the South and the West may have been driven largely by reopenings and relaxed social distancing restrictions.

Wow...

And when you assess how excess deaths are up, keep in mind that a lot of deaths due to other causes (such as traffic fatalities) are significantly down. Meaning COVID had to replace those before it even got to the "excess" territory.

School shootings and other mass shootings went from one mass incident per day down to about zero.

I am worried about what is going to happen as people in the US continue to get more lax and the weather turns colder as we head into fall and winter.

Could be an extended period of these protocols (masks, social distancing, business closures, etc) it appears.

New MLB Covid rule: players who test positive can apply to return to play in 10 days even if they continue to test positive (but still need MLB joint committee OK) and r very likely to be allowed back after 14 days even w/continuing positives. Reasoning: contagiousness dissipates

Well, MLB handled it badly as shown by them implementing 7 inning games and the Cardinals basically trying to make up all the games they missed because of infections. They are just trying to finish the regular season so they can get to the bubble.

Point taken regardless of agenda, but please let’s keep the data honest.

I don't think he's being dishonest. I went to the CNN site after trying several and got zero for China, so it might be a reporting issue. Either way, what's the point of quibbling the numbers if the actual numbers still support the idea that the US is the runaway leader in not containing COVID?

I am just reporting what worldometer reported. You might not like their data, but the data appears legitimate.

After I wrote that, and more importantly after I gave you the benefit of the doubt and assumed your numbers to be accurate, I checked worldometer:

China was 0 on the 13th 14th and 15th
Italy was 3 on the 14th and 4 on the 15th

So, you mentioned agenda. Sounds like you must need a really big screen to project yours.

I have been using this and the numbers have been on point from what I gather, but I will apologize in advance if this link is off.
Regarding the agenda, I'll respond to you and Omar at the same time. I agree with Omar, the numbers are so bad that there's no need to cherrypick one day over another to compare it with other countries. Pick any day, and your point will still be made. Our #'s are awful, there's no arguing about that, no matter the political position.

The name "Oleandrin" reminds me of "Forsythia". That was the herbal remedy from the movie "Contagion" that Jude Law's character was pushing. He had stock in the herbal remedy company and it wouldn't surprise me if MyPillowGuy does as well.

On Apr 28, when de Santis was taking his victory lap for how well Florida had done Vis-à-vis the coronavirus pandemic, 1171 Floridians had died (worldometer--so we don't go there again). Now, after reopening prematurely and too rapidly, there are 9,993 dead.

About to get even rougher as the schools open. My wife will have students in her classroom starting Monday....

I hope that goes OK . . .

IHME has updated their projections. As it stands today, the US is projected to have between 198,831 and 252,068 deaths by Nov. 1--though let's not forget, they won't be stopping there. As has been the case, the ultimate number will be a factor of how well the people respond to masks and social distancing, and how smart the states are regarding their easing plans.

I guess this means it will be closer to the 252K number.

Everything is g-r-o-o-v-y. Or so you'd think listening to Trump regarding coronavirus. Right?

IHME's projections just keep going up. Why is that? Well besides (bleep) leadership and (bleep) citizens . . . well, I guess that about sums it up.

IHME's new projections for deaths due to the coronavirus are now in a range of 227,476 to 391,723, with 295,011 as their actual projection point. This is for 1-Dec. To use the old 1-Nov projection point, as above, the range is 211,180 to 283,462, with 250,258 as the their actual projection point.

I wish for the deaths to stop, as does Trump. Here we agree. We differ in that I hate all the suffering and Trump hates that it reflects poorly on his leadership. A quarter of a million deaths on election day can't be a good selling point--at least in a normal election and with normal people voting.

The projection is still rising, but the increase is slowing and the extreme ranges narrowing--still for 1-Dec.:

IHME's new projections for deaths due to the coronavirus are now in a range of 277,767 to 364,865, with 309,918 as their actual projection point.

They also provide a projection for universal mask use as well. Here the range is 224,777 to 260,992, with 240,103 as the actual projection point.

This means that if the flat-earthers cared about someone other than themselves, we could save 50K+ to 100K+ lives, just by universal mask use.
