Nevada has issued a face mask order, requiring people to wear face coverings in public indoor places. |

I can't help but think how many lives would've been saved if Congress made this a law in March and it was enforced nationwide. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

That would have called for leadership. Something we don't have in this administration, _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Idiot in chief would have vetoed any law requiring masks guaranteed. |

I know someone who went out there last weekend. He is against masks in general, and said it was a dumb experience. Plexiglass partitions in between the players at the tables. You have to wear a mask in order to gamble. Lines for the elevators because they are limiting the number of people who get on. He views all these safeguards as dumb, and ruining the experience. It is kind of ironic that the people that don't care about social distancing or wearing masks are the only ones that would even consider going to party in Vegas right now. |

IMHO it wouldn't have mattered. We simply don't have the patience and endurance. I was surprised we kept quarantined for as long as we did. |

I think it would have mattered. Many of those who won't wear masks most likely wouldn't have obeyed the mask law. It may have cause a lot fencers to the mask side. Maybe not as many as I'd like but 6 out of 18 is better than none. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

This is the first time you've noted OC deaths in a day. Is the 24 a record for OC? I'm assuming it is, but I could be wrong. On a related note, my friend that deals with OC hospitals told me that roughly 1/3 are virtually empty with COVID patients, 1/3 are at capacity with them, and 1/3 "I can't even walk into." |

Republican governance part 2:
Washington Post: How Arizona ‘lost control of the epidemic’
Quote: | Arizona has emerged as an epicenter of the early summer coronavirus crisis as the outbreak has expanded, flaring across new parts of the country and, notably, infecting more young people.
Maricopa County, which includes Phoenix, is recording as many as 2,000 cases a day, “eclipsing the New York City boroughs even on their worst days,” warned a Wednesday brief by disease trackers at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, which observed, “Arizona has lost control of the epidemic.”
But physicians, public health experts, advocates and local officials say the crisis was predictable in Arizona, where local ordinances requiring masks were forbidden until Gov. Doug Ducey (R) reversed course last week. State leaders did not take the necessary precautions or model safe behavior, these observers maintain, even in the face of compelling evidence and repeated pleas from authoritative voices. |
Quote: | And now, Arizona is facing more per capita cases than recorded by any country in Europe or even by hard-hit Brazil. Among states with at least 20 people hospitalized for covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, no state has seen its rate of hospitalizations increase more rapidly since Memorial Day. |

Doesn't matter if he's there or not. Pence is spewing the same BS. He's trying to take a victory lap. It's just that to the uninitiated his bland milquetoast delivery can be confused for a facsimile of empathy. |

Pence came close to losing it when the female reporter asked him about advising one thing (cautious response to Covid) and then doing the opposite (Trump rallies).

https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/26/politics/donald-trump-coronavirus-protocols/index.html
Quote: | As he seeks to insert rival Joe Biden's health into the presidential campaign, Trump has voiced escalating concern about how it would appear if he contracted coronavirus and has insisted on steps to protect himself, even as he refuses to wear a mask in public and agitates for large campaign rallies where the virus could spread.
When he travels to locations where the virus is surging, every venue the President enters is inspected for potential areas of contagion by advance security and medical teams, according to people familiar with the arrangements. Bathrooms designated for the President's use are scrubbed and sanitized before he arrives. Staff maintain a close accounting of who will come into contact with the President to ensure they receive tests. |
