That is all. |
Kuz played decent defense on Kawhi. Kawhi likes to use his strength but Kuz looks a bit stronger, and Kawhi no longer has that burst to get around him. Kawhi can bully Danny a bit though, and Danny needs to resort to fouls. Kuz can defend Kawhi, can't defend stronger wings as well but if we're looking at a pure Clipper v Laker matchup, defensively Kuz will get the job done |

I never liked this signing....certainly not at $30 million. The writing was on the wall last year in the playoffs. 6 ppg.....32% from 3’s. Van Fleet was superior to him. Now we’re stuck. At least he’s a good guy...doesn’t cause problems etc. But they could have done much better than Green. |

Yeah, it was a emotional reaction, we overpaid after KL stiffed us at the altar. $15 million is way to much - I think he is worth about $5 million really in value. All we can hope for is that he does the little things, and hits his open shots. A little like Kuzma, we need to run some easy ones for him, to help him out. _________________ LAKERS 2019-2020: NBA World Champions! |

Like our team and all of our players, he will be judged by his performance in April, May, and June. He been sucking it up lately, though. |

In a time when the average salary is $8 million, there were a few teams willing to pay him $10 million. We probably had to goose that a little to get him to sign for only two years. So $12 million is really the minimum I'd expect to get him for on a two-year contract. |

If he shoots better, then it was great.
If not, its lethal shooter’s fault. _________________ Clippers are our Daddy. |

Ok so who would I have preferred over him at $15m using the same timeline
Danny signed on 7/6 For $30m
After that:
Would have signed JJ Reddick instead and saved $4m
Then used savings to sign Richaun Holmes
Or maybe sign Ariza with Holmes and have savings for Burks also
There are so many options even after Klaw delayed we could have still made
FO panic and signed as many guys familiar with the team as possible and overpaid for DG
Players we should have signed and people were BEGGING for them on this board
SG: Burks because he was cheap
F: RHJ - young and cheap and solid defender
F: Stanley Johnson - young w/potential to grow with team
PG: Burc - best option left when time came
And there was plenty of other young talent or quality players left out there that we could have signed and helped this season and for the future IE Stanley). But we went with “comfortable” instead of the development (high risk high reward). |

Agree. My point is just that with savings of not paying $15m a year for DG, there were opportunities to sign numerous players with that $15 that would have helped. IE RHJ for Raptors is not amazing but absolutely helps this team right now with his defense. Especially at next to nothing from a salary perspective. We could have got him and JJ with the money of DG. And same could be said for money we gave KCP. (I also would not have let Reggie wall
And instead kept him, let him heal and then have that scoring/shooting also) |

I mean saying captain hindsight for many on this board is a bit unfair. You can go back to my posts during the summer where I constantly said if we sign DG it will be a huge overpay, will regret it and will skip on signing young controllable, cheap assets. We did just that and DG is a huge mistake at $15m a year now. HUGE MISTAKE |

I still don’t understand why they didn’t. I guess they figured they were set with DG/KCP
I am still curious if we end up trying to get Jeff Green. Someone is going to sign him and he can still contribute on D and may find his shot again. Plus he somewhat versatile. Not like he use to be but offers more than a few guys we have. |

Redick doesn’t move the needle tbh. He’s not the player people think he is...and major liability on a defensive minded team like the Lakers. |
