Quote:
“He’s still a great player. Not a Hall of Famer yet, though. He’s not,” MJ said, punctuating his point.

Jordan is notorious for giving great players a hard time. He used to do the same with LeBron James.

Curry has already made six All-Star teams, won three championships, two NBA MVP awards, a scoring title, and he is the greatest shooter in the history of the sport. He is a career 43.6 percent 3-point shooter. He has revolutionized the game. If he retired tomorrow, he’d be a Hall of Famer. Michael is crazy for saying otherwise.

Uhhh MJ, what would he have to do in order to become one in your eyes?

His argument might hold weight if there weren't so many names already in the Hall of Fame that Curry is already better than. He's achieved more than A LOT of Hall of Famers.

maybe he's talking about top-10 all time... how many players you have ahead of Steph?

Kareem
Wilt
Magic
Bird
Russell
MJ
Olajuwon
Shaq
Kobe
Duncan
LeBron
KD

Pippen?

If he's strictly talking about top 10, then that's a given. I would put plenty players ahead of Curry. Certainly 18, off the top of my head. Everyone on your list including West, Robertson, Garnett, Wade, Pippen and Dirk.

There is no such thing as the NBA Hall of Fame. Its just the basketball hall of fame and the standard is a significant contribution to the game of basketball, which Steph Curry already has.

This is French for MJ believing Curry is not an all-time great player yet ….

No one is a Hall of Famer until they get voted into the Hall of Fame.

MJ just being MJ.

Now that Lebron has passed him on the scoring list and will likely end up as the only NBA player to finish top 5 in scoring and assists, he can't talk about him as much.

If the Warriors don't burn Steph out, I'd like to see him break Jordan's 3041 points in a season. Not gonna be easy as MJ played in all 82 games that season but Steph gets his buckets 3 points at a time.

I think it remains whether or not he is a first ballot hall of famer.

But yes, technically Stephen Curry has not been voted into the hall of fame yet.

I actually feel like Curry really doesn't have the same body of work as a top 10 or even top 20 player. In fact, I would say that he was really only a top 3 player in the league during that 73-9 season.

I wouldn't put him in the top 10, but his body of work seems reasonable for the top 20 or 30 -- two MVP awards, six all-NBA teams, three rings, arguably the best shooter in NBA history (#1 all-time career free throw percentage; #5 all-time 3-point shooting percentage; will likely retire #1 as 3-pointers made).
