Nets game is a good barometer for the Lakers to see what they need to work on before the regular season starts. Allowing almost 50% from 3-point range, and a third of their shots being from that range, is not a good recipe for success in today's NBA. They're really gonna have to work on improving that perimeter defense. |

Yup. The Nets made twenty threes last night which means more than half of their points came from behind the three point line. I take my hat off to the Nets for their shooting prowess but that's not going to happen with most teams on a nightly basis.
I was watching all those threes go in for the Nets and thinking they don't even have Kyrie and KD yet. Maybe they'll give the Bucks and Sixers a run in the EC.
Great game. Didn't even feel like a pre-season game until the 4th quarter. I wonder if Silver put pressure on teams to play starters more for these China games. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

Quote: | Irving tried to play through his left-side facial fracture, an injury that occurred in a pickup game last month. He was wearing a clear mask in an effort to protect his face, but bumped into Rondo while playing defense just 1:06 into the contest.
Irving's face made contact with Rondo's upper arm. The Nets guard immediately winced in pain, took the mask off and motioned to the bench that he needed a substitute.
If that wasn't concern enough, the Nets lost their other starting guard just 22 seconds later. Caris LeVert left with 10:32 remaining in the first quarter after being poked in the eye and didn't return |

True. They won’t match up well against Denver who look potentially deep. |

Nets were without Irving/Caris but we were also without Kuz/Cook/Daniels/Dudley... this game is basically a wash and it’s obvious that the Nets wanted to win this game for Joe Tsai. |

KD is out for the year that’s why I didn’t mention him, Irving and LeVert were playing in this game before they were taken out. |

They've been there a few days. |
You only caught the last 3 minutes though. Keep in mind who he's paired with. |
Understood - but I also saw who has was paired against. |
The Nets lineup down the stretch had significantly more talent than ours. |
DeAndre Jordan blocked the hell out of us the last few minutes... |
And Pinson/Nwaba are defensive specialists. Having Cacok out there at C against Jordan really hurt the offense, as well. |
Plus Kurucs and Taurean Prince before he fouled out. They had a real lineup out there. We had the SBL. |
Nets just really have a deeper squad at this point. |

Our PG/SG rotation is our weakest position depth and overall quality-wise. We have a bunch of average players tbh who are one dimensional. |

But I think at c/pf/SF we have elite talent and or good versatility.
Avery got a watch his fouls love his intensity but silly fouls are still silly fouls.. |

We are also missing key depth guys in Kuzma, Dudley, and Cook. _________________ 14-5-3-12 |

Not sure how much meaningful analysis there can be given the whole off court situation, Lakers basically resting its main guys at the end of the game when the Nets won this preseason game.
Obviously for the Nets owner this game was a bigger deal and they didn't trot out DLeague guys to finish the game. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Facts. Truth remains though or backcourt is our weak link don't see Cook changing that much ... And I like Quinn. Our shooters can't defend our defenders can't shoot or play make (outside Rondo who is not a great shooter or defender) |

Besides we dominated in rebounds, assists, free throw shooting and steals while shooting a very good 39% from 3pt range doing this using 3 GLeague players in Jackson, Zack and CaCock all of the 4th quarter.
I think we did very well over all. You can pinpoint Green poor shooting and KCP, well... meh performance as the down points. |

Btw, when it’s all said and done, Taurean Prince will end up being 1 of the best pick ups of the off season, the dude can play. |

The South Bay Laker guys were a missed Jackson layup away from probably winning this game. The Nets bench is stocked with solid veterans that know how to finish. |

So I'm pretty sure AD had more assists than Lebron and Lebron had more rebounds than AD
I think Lebron wasn't playing point at any part of the night, which might have lead to his low assist numbers. Not sure why AD had so few rebounds though ... probably because the Nets are pretty big and physical around there themselves |

Its only preseason so not a big deal but Bradley averaging 2.5 ppg isnt living up to the hype. He's going to have to fight to win the starting spot |

At times it looked like both teams didn't want to play but I will give it to both teams for showing up, at least for the fans sake.
Not much I can take away from this game except I want to see Caruso play more. |

Just finish watching the game, nets shot the hell out of the ball at the 3pts line. Not discouraged at the loss, we basically have a D league in the end and we still had the chance to win. |
