i think Chipotle is highly overrated but the Barbacoa is very good. Their steak and chicken is nothing to call home about.

People...try the barbacoa! Trying to lose weight? Get the salad with barbacoa. Want even less calories? Get it with the spicy salsa instead of the salad dressing.

I love chipotle, think their flavors are unique, and have eaten every item on their short menu and like them all. I started with the burritos, then the bowls, then salads, then tacos. Now I'm stuck on their salad. It's my favorite fast casual restaurant right now. But it's all about the barbacoa.

I heard they are testing breakfasts somewhere in the country. Hope it makes it out here.

The only thing above average is their guac. Not bad, just nothing I would go out of my way to find.

Steak with corn salsa and guacamole is my favorite. Someone mentioned cutting calories... I just eat half. I couldn't eat that whole fat burrito if I wanted to.

Here's my quandary. Chipotle is good, if you live in Toledo. For you Californians, especially you SoCal denizens, why eat chain wanna-be-Mexican food?

We usually don't. However we had a 2 burritos for 1 coupon the other day and we went. It was a 6 out of 10 for me. I enjoy my local hole in the wall carne asada burrito much more. We have a place called "Jilibertos" and another called "Taco Shop" ( ) that we go to weekly.

Aren't even the food vans/trucks better?

I think it's in Washington D.C. It is also rumored that the founder of Chipotle is starting an Asian-style fast casual restaurant there as well. I guess DC must be a good test market.

Barbacoa all the way, no doubt.

Check their website for people that are skeptics, they have a very "green" outlook:

I can't speak for all Californians, but I like to rotate from Street Mexican, Restaurant Mexican, to Gringo Mexican, to Fast Food Mexican American, wanna be Mexican, etc. - Tortas, tacos, burritos, moles, caldos, huaraches, etc. depends on what I'm craving. It also means I have indigestion alot. lol

Of the few chain restaurants I go to, Chipotle is one of the better options.
And if for those who don't know they can do quesadillas there, but it takes a lil longer.
