From everything I'm reading on Twitter, it could be anything from a 2-4 week injury if there is no ligament damage, to a season-ender if he requires surgery. From what I've read, usually this injury (a patellar dislocation) does NOT require surgery. Matthew Stafford had a very similar injury in 2009 and he missed 4 weeks.

As a Mahomes owner in one of my leagues, nothing you can do but see if he will be back by the middle of next month. Anything earlier should be viewed as a bonus.

Yes, Denver's O-line is bad. But Flacco is a statue AND his awareness is awful. He's comically bad. He is worse than even his (poor) stats suggest.

When Manning retired the Broncos franchise decided to join him apparently....

Even 2015 Manning looks real good right now..

I knew Mahomes would have a down year as soon as he agreed to be on the cover of Madden.

And then followed that up by losing at home to a third-string QB.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is reportedly expected to miss at least three weeks after dislocating his right kneecap in Thursday night's 30-6 win over the Denver Broncos.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, there is "real optimism" Mahomes will return after three weeks, although his recovery timetable depends on the results of his MRI:

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has officially been diagnosed with a dislocated kneecap after undergoing an MRI on Friday, according to Ian Rapoport and James Palmer of NFL Network.

Rapoport noted Mahomes' absence is expected to be "brief" after the MRI revealed no "significant additional damage" to the signal-caller's knee. Mahomes will reportedly seek additional opinions as he looks to determine the proper course of action for recovery.

And it didn’t help that the O coordinator was calling play action pass plays.

It happened to my son but two ligaments were stretched (not torn) and he had season-ending surgery.

Charger-esque finish.

Melvin Gordon has been awful ever since he came back from his holdout.

Chargers were supposed to be challenging the Chiefs in the AFC West this season but they're now in last place.

Injuries plus the Melvin Gordon holdout didn't help things. They've looked out of sync the entire season.

to your point, I did not even realize he had returned. I actually thought he was a little overvalued in recent years. Also, not sure if the numbers league wide support my observation, but it seems like in most games I have watched this season teams have struggled on the ground.

Two fumbles by Philly in their own territory leading to two TDs by Dallas.

Chargers ran those plays that the Seahawks should've ran in the Super Bowl vs the Patriots, except in typical Chargers fate, they still fail to score.

New England overpaid a bit, but they needed another vet receiving option, one other than Edelman. Josh Gordon has underwhelmed, either that lifestyle took a toll on him or he's hiding an injury. Dorsett has never been a consistent option, the very definition of a WR3, though he does help stretch the field. And of course, the receiving options at TE are arguably the worst in the league.

I think New England need a Center more than anything else. Their starter is out for the season, and the backup doesn't have the strength or bend, and isn't consistent at snapping the ball. Brady early got killed by the Jets Nose Tackle last night, and their run blocking between the tackles is inconsistent at best, awful at worse. And it trends towards awful in short yardage situations. Most of the fault is at Center, with an honorable mention at Full Back, or which the Patriots have lost both starter and backup for the season.

I would have preferred Alex Mack from Atlanta, but I doubt they would have considered trading him.

The game last night was a disaster for both the Jets and Sam Darnold. I liked Darnold, more on intangibles than mechanics. He's mechanically flawed. One of those flaws emerged last night, when Darnold kept throwing off of his back foot. Yet instead of warning him not to throw off the back foot, the coaching staff fed him with happy talk, like "Just keep believing in yourself". The kid didn't need a cheerleader last night, he needed a coach.

49ers trade for Emmanuel Sanders, giving up 2020 3rd and 4th round picks, while Denver will send them back a 2020 5th rounder.
