Dwight was helpful in some series and not so much in others but I think that Lebron and AD were much more needed in the tournament. As for Shaq, he has always known that Dwight was a pretender. Just one who was stupid enough to try to copy Shaw’s schtick.

No sh*t -- Einstein. Thanks for the shattering insight. How does "important part" lead to comparison to AD and Lebron?

I think Shaq and Kobe is more important in a tournament then Rich Fox.

I think that Magic and Worthy were much more needed in the tournament than Rambis.

So you're saying Steph and Klay are more important than Draymond...

Did Shaq say anything about the Lakers' win?

Lets not forget that Shaq went ring chasing with Lebron and then later with the hated Celtics....

I got a feeling Dwight will return for the vet min over bigger offers elsewhere. He has made over 200+ mil in his career. Has houses all over the country. Money doesn't seem like his motivation at this point in his career. Also his fiancee plays for the LA Sparks. I think it's a done deal he returns and try for another championship.

If this happens, it would clear up a couple of issues the Lakers are facing this offseason.

2 titles would get him into the Hall of Fame.

With the NBA revenue losses expected next year, he probably won’t get more than the vet min.

Really depends on how desperate the Warriors are, they need a big badly, they might throw crazy money at Howard.

also don’t be so sure just because her fiancé plays for the Sparks that it’s a given he stays, Howard usually stays in ATL most of the time any way.

He was a HOF even without.the titles. Did you forget prime Dwight was the best center in the NBA for a 5 year stretch and it wasn't even close.

Shouldn't we change the title of the thread? I keep thinking Dwight re-signed but then I remember free agency hasn't even started yet.

Happens to me every time I log into the website.

I hope either the OP or one of the mods can find the time to change it.

Had to bump this thread. Dwight getting no love in FA?

The only team I have heard associated with Dwight is Golden State.

Thoughts?

It would be perfect if we could

* resign Dwight at the vet min
* sign Ibaka; and
* convince McGee not to pick up his option!

agreed. And it will be VERY easy to get McGee to drop his option... just tell him he will have a diminished role this coming season.

We need to sign this guy back. He is really important against DEN in particular and other teams like POR/PHI that have size.

Even if we get Ibaka, I'd have Dwight as a high priority re-sign. We don't win the title without him.

Who knows if Howard wants to stay here (especially at the vet min), but it looks like the Lakers want to keep him.

Honestly worries me a bit that the Lakers are “chasing” Howard even in this small way.

He was successful because he was humbled and played like he had something to prove. What happens when he doesn’t feel that pressure. Will we see the return of the knucklehead Howard ?
