The point of including Speights and Gortat on this has to be to make us feel better if we end up signing Dwight. At least we didn't sign Gortat or Mo Buckets.
OK....just so that I understand the outrage
Is everyone of the opinion that he no longer can guard the rim and bang with big centers?
If he has lost that....then move onto the next player....if this is over something that has happened YEARS ago then come on man
that is in question. his block % last year was 4-6 times lower than previous years.. 3 times lower than Zubac.
0.4 blocks per game. He wasn't himself last year, has to prove he still has it
that's a bad look... he was the first to agree to a deal on the Lakers. at least let the dude go through training camp _________________ Lakers Picks The Next Six Years:

2021 - Own (likely)
2022 - New Orleans
2023 - Own or New Orleans' Pick
2024 - Own (Likely)
2025 - New Orleans
might want to look at these before you make a judgement.
just my opinion but d12 actually makes us bigger and physically stronger overall as a team than dmc did.

Mo Speights????

He's a pick and pop, and catch and shoot big. Something I prefer out of the Center position.
We should be running 4 out- 1 in. That spacing will allow LBJ and Brow to dominate.
He's by far the best of the candidates. We already have a rim runner/block shot specialist in McGee. He would provide a different look.

Sources: Lakers planning individual workouts to evaluate centers Joakim Noah, Dwight Howard and Mo Speights this week in Los Angeles. Another consideration currently overseas: Marcin Gortat. Lakers want a window into physical condition and mindset of a potential addition. If
Smart. this is what I wanted..just wasn't sure if pros do this
Now THIS is good news!! Noah, Speights, Gortat, if healthy, all have something to offer. Howard has... um.. potential.
Howard is better then Noah but the Lakers might value Noah’s intangible’s and high basketball IQ so he might be the guy that impresses the Lakers brass the most.

Noah's a very good passer. Maybe he could facilitate the offense some. I'm not sure what dimension Howard provides that differs from McGee at all.

Noah had more impact last year than Dwight in his last few seasons. The advanced stats show that Noah is a still a net positive. He had a net rating of +5.3 last year on a terrible Memphis team. He also had a BPM of 2 and a WS/48 of close to .20.
The Grizz fans seem to love him and some have even referred to him as a poor man's Draymond Green on defense. He is much better at switching on guards than Dwight and always plays with energy even at his age. Plus, he was willing to come off the bench last year and play a role. Dwight has never shown to be willing to do that.

I agree with you 100% that’s why if Noah is the guy we get I would be pumped up because the dude always plays with fire.

Dwight is the last person who has ever played NBA basketball that I would want to see on this team. I’d rather bring 60-something Bill Laimbeer out of retirement. At least Laimbeer was liked by his teammates and knew how to play his role. Dwight is the opposite of both of those things.
Ocho has very clearly laid out the case against Dwight in multiple posts, and those posts are spot on. Anyone but Dwight.

I didn’t realize there were six Clipper fans on LG- I can’t think of any other reason six people voted for known chemistry-killer Dwight to join the Lakers.

Are you saying Noah to Dwight too? _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

This thread says it all. Sometimes talent alone is not enough.
If Noah has something left in the tank and willing to sign do it.

So what happened to him in NY?
The answer is easy. the Knicks are a horrible franchise.
He’s got One thing going for him... he’s not Dwight Howard

What the look of a clown? Hell no I'd rather have a smaller hardworking banger than a soft smiling clown.
No way, Daniels is going to be our reliable shooter. Plus, why would we need both?
If we want to sign both (not sure why, but ok), then waive Boogie and sign them both. If/when Iggy gets bought out, we can waive one of the new signings. Again, I doubt we do that, but no reason to get rid of Troy Daniels.
Got to go with D12. The dude's athleticism was so crazy in the past he has to have some of it left. He's will still get rebounds and play decent defense.
Based on pure talent he is someone who can make this team better. Noah and MS won't do anything for us. Rather the FO take a risk on someone who might be good but is a pain than go with someone who has shown they have nothing left in the tank
