Is the Lukaku deal done? Last I heard, Dybala was balking.
I’m sort of blah on the Maguire signing, but then what would you expect? Man U can’t manage to hire a technical director when even freaking Arsenal has managed to move into the 21st century. |

At this point, only reason Dybala would want Utd is money, and when does that ever work out. Is he gonna be another Alexis Sanchez there?
I also really don’t understand how Juve rate Lukaku on the same level as Dybala, Lukaku has the first touch of a non league player.
Looking forward to the start of the season, hoping Arsenal can get some defensive reinforcements. On a side note, it is 25 years now that I’ve been an Arsenal season ticket holder, my how time flies.... _________________ Lakers, Chargers, Dodgers, Arsenal FC.

Last I heard the deal is off. Seems like Dybala made too many demands about his wages/image rights/CL guarantee. Not too surprised by it; seems Juve was more interested in getting his wages off & adding Lukaku than United was about adding Dybala who would be unsettled from the get-go. _________________ Character

Can't say I disagree with him, but I think it would be a hard sell in the USA to sell a sport without a playoff system. |
Teams and owners wouldn't accept the change; arguably, the change in format would benefit the quality of play. _________________ Character

Did anyone else get the impression that Paul Pogba spent the first half of the Chelsea game trying to figure out why he was still in Manchester, instead of Madrid? Also, I thought De Gea was the star of the game for ManU, which is odd given that his team won 4-0.
Kudos to the EPL for implementing VAR better than pretty much everyone else. People are always going to complain about it, but then fans will complain about anything. But the implementation looked smooth and efficient. |

Nope; didn't get that impression. Just slow to start, probably just nerves; grew into the game (with the rest of the squad) especially in the 2nd half. Happy for Daniel James, the boy lost his father in the summer before his move; always good to score on your debut match. _________________ Character

I understand this can get frustrating for the uninitiated, but the PL has changed with the times. |
I have no issue with the goal being ruled out, but they didn't even look at what probably should've been a penalty to City in the first half. City always seem to be on the losing end of VAR so far _________________ Lakers, Chargers, Dodgers, Arsenal FC.

Option 1: Spurs fans complain that the referee missed a handball and allowed the goal.
Option 2: City fans complain that VAR spotted the handball and disallowed the goal.
Either way, people complain. Whatever. |

Here we go:
Group A: Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Club Brugge, Galatasaray
Group B: Bayern Munich, Tottenham, Olympiakos, Red Star Belgrade
Group C: Manchester City, Shakhtar Donetsk, Dinamo Zagreb, Atalanta
Group D: Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Lokomotiv Moscow
Group E: Liverpool, Napoli, Salzburg, Genk
Group F: Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, Slavia Prague
Group G: Zenit St. Petersburg, Benfica, Lyon, Leipzig
Group H: Chelsea, Ajax, Valencia, Lille
Groups G and H are sort of farcical. The other groups look fairly well balanced. |
