I finally got to watch more of his game and he's not an NBA player.
Can't move laterally.
Slow reaction time, even worse 2nd jump.
You can tell his hips are just not flexible so it limits his mobility. He's also 200 pounds which hurts b/c he gets knocked off easily and he has no perimeter offensive game. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

We know he and Giannis want to play together. Now that the senior brother is inked long term with Milwaukee, I wonder if we could get a second round pick for Kostas. |

I want to see how he plays at the center position. Maybe he's serviceable for 10 to 20 mpg. He averaged 7.8 boards and 1.3 blocks per 25.4 minutes in the G-League. |

If the G-League comes back then sure he should get that many minutes with them but in no way should he ever be getting consistent minutes on the Lakers or we're in trouble.

Let’s face it the Lakers only signed this guy because of the lure of Giannis wanting to play with his brother. Now that he has resigned with Milwaukee expect him to get cut soon. |

He is a 2 way for a reason.
Simple fact, Cacok and Antenenkoumpo are developmental players we can play up to 60 games, each this season, IIRC.
This is significant given the pandemic, the condensed season and players potentially getting sick, injured, or simply being restricted by league protocols.
He is not ready, but has length is is somewhat bouncy.
Definitely not a bad thing to keep as a 2 way unless someone with more upside becomes available.
He is not taking up a roster space for a veteran, etc. |

If his name was Greg Smith, would he even get a 2 way deal? _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

They signed him for 2 reasons. One raw talent and the second his brother. Now his brother is off the market, it comes down to can he be a contributor sometime in the future. If a player is available for the Lakers, I think he is the first one cut, but technically I think they can add one more roster spot. |

Well, he's definitely top 60 in the G-league so someone probably would. |

He and Cacok take up the LAL's 2 2-way contract spots. These do not impact the 15 man roster. There are 14 players on that roster now, with QC's non-guaranteed. Kostas and Cacok are only preventing another 2-way player, not a regular roster spot from joining the LAL.
If a player with upside, who is eligible for a 2-way contract were to become available, I would see if that player fills more needs than Kostas or Cacok.
ntil then, I don't see any issue with having both holding 2-way contracts. |

They are probably waiting until a few games into the season to cut him. It would be too obvious just a couple of days after Giannis signed. |

That’s a classy thing to do. Maybe a 30 year old FA Giannis would remember the gesture. |
