There’s at least 10 players on that list for cheaper $ who I would rather have than KCP and his 2 year $16 million contract.

THT (been reported) and Norvell

Don't we have 2 spot left?

You are correct. We are at 13 assuming THT becomes a 2 way.

Lakers should reserve 1 of the 2 last spots for Iguodala. He is looking like a mid-season buyout. The other spot I would guess is up for grabs for one the young players (THT, Norvell, Caroline, Cacok) to win in training camp.

THT isn't signing on a two-way - it would require him to give up too much money and given his high ceiling, my guess is the Lakers want him around the team as much as possible.

Lakers should look at Bender or Chriss for a 2-way.

Agreed. This was a good get, and Pelinka's answers really go against the narrative by some pundits about him being clueless about the cap and FA signings.

Norvell is signed to a 2 way player, THT will get a spot & the rest are g-league talent, I would not waste a HC on them. They will support our G-league team.

Let's wait and see if any glaring weaknesses surface in our line-ups. I think the bench might be too guard heavy and lacking in rebounders. In that case, someone like Faried would make sense.

Igoudala is obviously the main target, but if we can't get him then i'm not sure that we'll use that spot until we see who might be available in the buyout market.

I wouldn't mind getting Korver, even though he's too old at this point, he can probably help us in some situations, Carmelo might become wild card down the road, especially because he's really good friend with Lebron and Rondo.

For sure Iggy but I think we really need another big I feel like we have a lot of undersized guards. 2 undersized PF outside AD. Faried can bring something this team can use. A really good fit with this team.

1. Iggy
- tonhave him off the bench would be amazing. Just another body to throw at guys like Leonard, PG, Klay, McCollum, Lillard , Mitchell, Harden. Also great at switches.

2. Faried
- Faried is a hustler and I’m shocked Houston let him go. This dude running with Rondo, AD, Quinnand Kuzma the second unit would be amongst the best.

3. Korver
- just a great guy on and off the court. Still a great shooter but that’s it and tbh we have a lot of shooters that I can only see him playing due to injuries or something.

4. Pau (why not)
- Love to get another ring for him and then retire his number.

If not any of them than just go find a gem in SL. Someone with potential tho not a Jonathan williams, not sure what they saw in him. Dude literally was below average with everything and was a twig

THT better be part of the team, whether it's g-league or whatever. They can't make us quit cold turkey on young prospects just like that. From Billy Thompson, to David Rivers, to Vlade, to Jewish Jordan, to Kobe, to Javaris to D'lo, to Zubac, etc. I always need a young kid on the roster to have high hopes for. Some pan out, and some don't, but I just need to pin high hopes on someone damn it.

Thats why i dont like the Troy Daniels signing...

There are far more better players still available that i know Vogel will use ahead of him.

Assuming we sign THT on 2 way K, then we have 2 more spots left. If we didnt sign Troy Daniels we have 3.

Any 3 from:
Iguodala (if bought)
Shaun Livingston
Kenneth Faried
Jamal Crawford
Korver
Melo

If he’s healthy, I really like Luc Mbah a Moute. Lakers need depth and more of a defensive presence at the 3 and the 4 behind Bron and Brow. Especially against teams like the Clips and the Bucks, I’m not very confident with just Dudley and Kuz. Mbah A Moute is easily one of the better defenders in the league and he has a decent percentage behind the arc.

When you have so many shooters on the team, you're going to need rebounding because there's going to be lots of missed shots. Kenneth Faried is a career 8.1 RBG with just 24.4 MPG. I think he'd be a much better fit for this team than another shooter like Korver or another guard like Livingston.

At this moment in time... not 2+ years ago...

Daniels > Melo, Livingston, Korver (38 years old!!), Crawford (39 years old!!). Those are just names at this point.

Daniels < Iggy (IF he can stay FIT and AVAILABLE for selection when needed), Faried (plays a different position... we still needed a 3rd SG option... and Daniels was a good 2nd option as back-up for Devin Booker last season). We are still able to add one of these to the roster, or even both... or two other similar players.

I have no complaints with Daniels as one of three SG options. Some Phoenix Suns writers certainly think it was a mistake letting him go and sign for another team on a Minimum instead of retaining him. Would have been nice if he was a 2-4 inches taller/longer... but if that extra legth translated into better defense, he probably wouldn't have been available for a Minimum.

I don't think we are getting Iggy as there appears to be a market for him and we have nothing to trade.

I am on the Faried train.

Yeah, for lack of a Taj type of guy, Faried would be solid.

I wouldn't be against adding Mbah a Moute as well. He brings no offense aside from setting screens and garbage buckets. But, has always brought good defense as a tweener forward. Perhaps a decent Iggy-lite on D until something better turns up.

Lakers have 7 Guards, and don't need another.

But could probably use another Forward,

IGGY is NOT getting bought out, so you guys can stop dreaming about him..

Not sure what Kenneth Faried has left, but I always admired his toughness and energy...

Leave it open for now.

Wait for the buyout market. Hopefully Iggy though that seems unlikely now. Who knows who else would pop up.

You can only have 13 active on the roster. The Lakers have 13 players that should get some time on the floor to see what it's like. Use the last spot in case or injury or a good opportunity appears.

I'd prefer that over bringing in Carmelo or Lance and having to inactivate someone else for.
