EXPLOSIVE. Not athletically but his mindset and attack mentality. I really like him and you can see how the modern NBA is in him. He is a kuzma type player where they looking to score 24/7 but can also follow the offense.
His defense has been pretty good to. Might have a gem right here with him going undrafted. He’s from Chicago so you know the chip on his shoulder is there.

The Lakers scouting department does a great job.
Even Pelicans media and fans have done a 180 on the trade. It’s amusing to see them pumping up Lonzo and Ingram.

Norvell has a natural knack for the game of basketball. There are some guys who may not have the greatest physical talents but they have a natural game intelligence, and that's Norvell. When Stu said this on the air, I agreed 100%. I was impressed how he played in the summer league, and said to myself this kid is a keeper.

I could see a line up of
PG.Caruso
SG.Norvell
SF.KCP
PF.Kuzma
C.Dwight
doing some damage
I think I'd try to put Cook in there instead of KCP. That dude says every year that he's in great shape and that it will be his best, and he just sucks out there.

Some skills with that handle tonight.
Happy to see him more on-ball. Still has shot selection issues.
I see more NVE than Michael Redd.
Really? NVE?
He just doesn't have NVE's handle. He has the same approach the shooting, finishing (good and bad), some shake (NVE had this in spades), and he's down on passing because he's not a pure PG.
But hell, NVE wasn't exactly a pure PG. He was an early prototype "scoring PG" and FG% be damned.
Norvell needs a wealth of development in terms of ball-handling, and he's an underrated PnR player (analytics have backed him quite well in limited sample at Gonzaga, hence the NVE reference), but Norvell and NVE definitely have the same aggressive approach.
Redd, I don't understand. Redd was constantly coming off screens, almost a majority of the time. Norvell, is more spot up or off the dribble/PnR situation type. _________________ Resident Car Nut.
Lots off the dribble, lots rejected screens, lots of letting it fly.
I guess I can see the comparison for Mavs NVE once he had began losing the quickness and was no longer considered a “pg” so to speak and more of a super sub. I can see what you’re saying in regards to the shake because Redd never had that,.. but he was more than capable of creating space to get a shot off with the ball in his hands. Norvell seems to have some understanding of pick and roll creation I don’t think Redd ever did. Either way he looked like he may be a diamond in the rough like Trier was for New York last year who if I recall you were also high on pre draft?
