Yeah, KCP would easily be G-League mvp averaging 35 a night.

Either way, pretty dumb to waive KCP when you don’t have to. You could just see what THT can do in the NBA first maybe.

But ahhh way too rational for LG! Haha.

FWIW, THT has a roster spot. Nobody has to be waived. The one who doesn't have a roster spot is Cacok. Kostas & Norvell are our 2 way.

How is this guy assigned to the G-League? That’s a top notch NBA move.

Flashing some nice passing ability.

Was he a good passer in college?

THT averaged 11.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals in 27 minutes per game. He was ranked as high as No. 20 on ESPN 100 draft rankings.
NBA teams like his 7-foot-1 wingspan and the fact that he doesn't turn 19 years old until November 25, making him the youngest college player to get drafted. per ESPN

Don't waive him. Just bench his ass. He's a massive detriment to our team

Ya he was solid, I think he pretty often flashed nice passes. Not really combo guard level passing, but could make all the passes when he wanted to, and could playmake with some beautiful passes... But he was most prone to just ISO and jack up a step back or drive and shoot. He seems to have a nice feel when he does decide to be a very willing passer though

He looks to be an amazing playmaker and scorer. If he becomes a good defender as well we have a future star

imo.. guys with special offensive skill... why not just let them grow on that end.. Once he gets in better shape, and has better coaching, then the defensive focus and energy can come. For now he's a typical 18 year old in focus - on the offensive end of the court. Takes a special player imo to focus on defense at that age; and an even more special player to be a legit 2 way guy at that age

After watching him in the G-League; he kind of reminds me of the Micro-Wave, Vinnie Johnson. It will be interesting to see his game evolve.

He's young but THT has that Chicago-style swag to his game!

I'm sure the Lakers will look to unlock his defensive potential in the future because of his freakish measurables.

The future is bright for THT.

Just keep in mind that Kostas is averaging 18/9/1/1/1 in 25 minutes for the g-league, while looking like complete garbage while playing against real NBA players. Caruso dominated the G-league last year, as have many players who are barely role players in the NBA, if cutting it all.

THT looks nice, but the g-league is barely a step above the summer league. Best to temper expectations.

Neither of them were 18!!!

THT is 18!!! Still!

Even though I graduated high school at 17, now a days, blue chippers graduate aren't freshmen in school until 19.

I can't believe what Kobe was doing as a 17 year old in Summer League.

Ballin at 17

Caruso dominated last year? He was averaging 14 points per game on 26 percent shooting on 3 pointers at 25 yrs of age.

THT is averaging 18 ppg at 40 percent shooting at 18 yrs old. Big difference.

G-League may be best for him right now, to get use to the NBA level game and keep his confidence up! He can flat out ball tho!

Has a different NBA frame, but can play nonetheless... Every time I see him I think 'Baby-Barkley' but Sir Charles had way more bounce.

In terms of strength and length tho, this kid has it with his 7'+ wing span! He'll be fine with the Lakers when his time comes...

His defense is a bit like his offense - he makes an impact through his length/strength and innate instincts, but he can do too much as his decisionmaking remains underdeveloped. So he has a great foundation to improve upon as he gains experience.

The two-way initiator upside at his age with the freaky length/strength combo is why I thought he should've been a surefire first round pick. Thankfully other NBA teams were confused by his body type and still developing jumpshot.

For us to be contenders post-LBJ, need this guy and Kuzma to develop. Also need to hit the next 2 1st round picks out of the park.

The future is bright for THT.

Recent (partial) list of players drafted by the Lakers, is pretty impressive. Lots of slots around the league filled.

Zo
Wagner
Bryant
Ingram
Julius
Bongo
Hart
Russell
Zu

Who else, drafted by the Lakers, can go on this list?
