With AD here, which point guard do we sign?

I’d like to see Dlo back, even if he can’t play a lick of D, i would love to see his creativeness and shooting on the offensive end. Plus he’s still young and can grow with AD. Thier pick and roll would be deadly.

If we could get Beverly or Rubio for cheap, I'd be all for it. Good defenders, Rubio is a better passer/ball handler, Beverly a shooter/scorer but both good enough as a 3rd/4th scorer.

In a mind-boggling near impossible event might we REGAIN both DLO and Randle. But it seems that Irving will be the one coming which means Randle is out of the picture.

Go after Beverly. Sure. But I think his market will be closer to the full MLE. 9-10M.

Our realistic targets for the room exception will probably be DRose or D.Collison. Rubio too but he cant shoot so it's a no.

I like Collison. He may want to take a minimum if he know he will get minutes and play a role.

Room exception is probably the least he would go for. Would be a good fit IMO

Neither DLo or Randle are good fits here at anything other than cheap contracts (aka much less than they'll get on the free market). If they weren't ex-Lakers you wouldn't ever suggest those two as good fits, especially since Randle and AD played together last year and it wasn't a great/dynamic fit.

My top 2 are... if they’re willing to take a cut pay cut

Darren Collison - steady vet that can hit the 3 still can play some D and is a Cali guy

Pat Beverly - need I say more, he just does all the dirty work

If they sign a wing (Kawhi Butler), then they need to look for a Mario Chalmers type: tough, gritty, an defend, and hit 3's.

The closest guy to that is: Beverly...

Well, it depends on how they are used and played. We have to have a strong second unit in the long run.

If Kyrie goes to the nets, I'll take Rose or Collison. Rubio cant shoot and I cant stand beverly.

That’s exactly why you want Beverly

I don’t want Rose. We need more defense than offense

Is Rajon Rondo available?

He gets 8.5 assists per game, and he shot 35% from 3 last year. He plays that great defense that ESPN always tells us about, and has that championship pedigree which brings success everywhere he goes.

Would Rubio ring chase for the Room Exception?

At 29, probably not. Will likely still be looking to get paid his last big-ish contract.

If we get Kawhi, this is what would worry me the most (not that we’d have anything to worry about with 3 of the top 5 guys; but still). Who can we realistically get for the room exception? The most common names above all sound unrealistic at that amount.

Great Defense ? Lol.. I wouldn’t mind him tho a player with his pedigree and mindset will quarterback this group well keeping everyone happy especially if it’s 3 stars like AD,Lebron and KL. Might be underrated factor not to mention his experience with playing with AD and Bron ..

I was initially on the Rondo train (who can forget the game winner), but he looked done after he came back from injury. I don’t know if that was the general team malaise to end the season, but he just didn’t seem to have it anymore.

At room exception, we'll probably have no option for a starting PG outside of D.Rose(maybe) and Rondo. We'll likely end up with Rondo. I won't be thrilled but that's a small price to pay for Kawhi.

All injury 1st team? (but I would take them)

Cory Joseph would be an interesting candidate

MCW would be a good signing at the vet min (if it comes to us filling out the 5-10 guys that way), even though he can't shoot.

Though it's looking like we have no 3rd max, so maybe we don't have to fill out the roster with minimum contracts. If so, 2 of Seth, Crawford, Ariza, and Danny Green would be ideal. However, Jamal averaged 24 & 6 over his last 6 games, possibly preventing us from signing him cheap. But if we do, maybe Brook can take the room exception?
