Waits a year to find his next MVP guard?

He's had 2 good runs, both times with players that can be great in his system where they run everything from the PG spot.

Other places it has gone bad real bad, especially with guys who play mid-range ball.

I dunno if he would fit with that Pelicans group, as I think Gentry ran some of D'Antoni's sets anyway. I think the Pels are looking for a defensive minded coach, as last year whenever I saw them play, their D sucked (especially against us).

Ingram/Zion with MDA again, doesn't sound like Nash/Harden type of fit. I think he awaits a year and then goes to a team like Sacto, who have a lot of young guards that could explode in the right situation. Minnesota is another option. If he does sign with NOP I will say right now that it won't work out too well.

On First Take they talked about him being an assistant to Steve Nash for the Nets. I don't see it for the fact that its a demotion not just in salary but in job title.

He was an assistant to Brett Brown between his Laker and Houston job.
As a favour to colangelo who was running the Sixers then.

It’s his life and he’s got a hell of a creative mind on offense so if he wants to help Nash succeed as a coach more power to him

MDA has many limitations and they were exposed in Houston again. But his abilities to create high octane offense can not be ignored. He’s incredibly good at that.

Associate Head Coach for the Clippers?

Lue’s strength is offensive play calling, so probably not. I guess we see which head coach gets fired first.

Problem with teams going after Mike D’Antoni is that teams know his system is outdated ( we destroyed small ball ) and unless he approaches a different game plan then small ball, he won’t gather much interest in the market.

So we can stick AD out on the 3 point line all game long and never let Lebron or AD post up or take a mid-range J? No thank you.

The kind of assistant coach on offense we could use is someone who can teach the guys how to time their post entry passes and get Dwight and AD the ball, as well add some more effective AD-Lebron 2 man pick and roll games into the mix.

AD: “I’m about to end that man’s whole career.”

The system is no longer fresh, but other coaches have added to the concept and improved upon it. So they don't actually need MDA to implement the concept anymore.
