Just the latest in a string of public humiliations for the Lakers.

Nobody since Phil left has lasted more than 2 seasons. Lue wants 5? That's ludicrous.

Quote:
Lue wants 5 years only because he knows he won’t be here for 5 years. Like Luke, wants to work here maybe 3 years and get paid off for the last 2 once he gets fired.

Bingo.

Maybe the goal is to have Kurt coach the team.

That's what Linda wants, just imagine the firestorm in Lakerland if that happens. In his last two coaching stints in Minny and NY, he went 41-151.

why the hell would the Lakers settle for a coach they are not confident giving a 5 year contract to?

Well it would keep up with the overlapping Lakers tradition of having multiple head coaches on the payroll.

Because that's the price tag of a new coach, unless the plan is to go basement diving for another Byron again...

I can understanding the thinking behind them only offering 3 years....that being said lowballing a coaching hire doesn't exactly give a message of stability to the rest of the league.

After Monty received a 5-year deal I don't see how they could rationally think that.

McMenamin on ESPN 710 right now saying it’s the money. Lakers don’t want to open up the wallets for Lue.

Yeah, I read he's still getting money from Cleveland....so its not worth it for him to accept a lowball contract just to coach.

Some of you just don't get it...

Lue has ZERO demand. Nobody wants him. He's only valuable as pacifier for LeBron. This means the Lakers are done with this ish asap. No need to keep Lue longer than they expect to have LeBron.

There is something rotten here... I think it's LeBron and his posse behind the scenes biting off more than they can chew. Our organization may suck right now... But we're still the Lakers and there are plenty of people not happy with how LeBron and his posse tried to steal the team away from Jeannie.

Don't be surprised if Jeannie trades LeBron to Siberia.

Wouldn't count that out since Lebron's biggest fan quit on the team. Anything goes now I guess since Linda and Kurt Rambis has the ear of Jeannie Buss.

@NickWright

Source: The Buss family & Rob Pelinka signed off on hiring Ty Lue last week. Kurt & Linda Rambis were the only parties opposed, and convinced the Lakers to hold off, which lead to today

The clip is edited, kinda jumpy, but it’s not fake.

100% fake unless Tyronn changed his name. This video has all the tell tale signs of a fake. The moment is started with a single frame should have been the first of multiple red flags.

Think about it. You record Lue with his cake. Then, rather than post the video, you take the steps to isolate a frame, but fail to take the step of removing the menu slide up at the end. It’s so obvious to me that this is fake. There are at least typical indicators.

I can put anyone’s face on that clip with a free mobile app in 10 mins.

Because Jeannie is a bubble head trust fund baby who has no idea what she's doing?
