Too many to say, but this is certainly a favorite: Two Wild and Crazy Guys!

I May Destroy You, which just aired its finale last night on HBO, was excellent.

Perry has not been a likeable protagonist,

In what sense? Just wondering.
Are you saying you dislike him because of the actor, or the writing for the actor, or just the premise for his character all together?

Rhys is a fine actor and, I assume, is only going where the writers and the director take him. Good vs evil works so much better when there is good to play off of. Remember now, I've only seen two episodes.

I suspect (hope) that he will develop into one of these modern complex flawed (but likeable) characters.

So, I finished it and the later four or five episodes were quite good. Perry, grew as a character, Della continued to be her awesome self, and the cop chose the right path.

It was a convoluted and complicated show but it eventually wound its way to an interesting conclusion. I am looking forward to next season.

Anyone watched Giri/Haji (Duty/Shame in Japanese) on Netflix? I’ve enjoyed it quite a bit. Yakuza murder mystery + gang war that takes in Tokyo and London.

Also got around to Mythic Quest on Apple+, with Mac from Always Sunny. It’s a solid comedy that I would compare with early seasons Silicon Valley.

Bill Hader's "Stefon" appearances on Weekend Update always made me laugh really hard.

My favorite (now) was John Belushi giving a tour the Not Ready for Primetime cemetery. Based on how life has progressed since then, some irony and a ton of sadness.

Yellowstone just finished season 3 on Paramount Network. Great show. You can see seasons 1 and 2 with Peacock premium and season 3 on the paramount app.

are we talking recurring sketches, or one offs? There are so many, but recurring sketches when I watched that I loved was Matt Foley (Farley), Mary Katherine Gallagher (Shannon), the Church Lady (Carvey), Celebrity Jeopardy (Ferrell), Spartan Spirit Cheerleaders (Ferrell & Oteri)....just too many to list/recall.

In regards to skits in general, everyone loves "More Cowbell", and there was an Eddie Murphy one where he disguised himself as white, and was shocked at the world white people live in....such as they did not require him to prove his income or use collateral to get a loan at a bank...and when there were only white people on the bus, it turned into a party with free refreshments, etc. etc.

Normal People

There is likely a reason this is not mentioned in a sports forum that so favors the Breaking Bad's, the Wire's, the Game of Throne's, the Peaky Blinder's and other action, thriller dramas, but there is no good reason.

Quite simply, this is a masterpiece. The use of the visual, often with only music to support, is exceptional. The framing (the close-ups, the angles) the editing, the use of natural light (almost exclusively) often replaces dialog in creating a mood or emotion. And the music and the score is as exceptional is it is extensive.

In music, it is often the space between notes that create the emotion. Here, it is often what is not said that does the same.

But this is not without dialog. Though often sparse, the words can have punch, can be biting, and can be beautiful.

What gives these qualities life and meaning are the two lead characters and their story. The product from the original story by Sally Rooney, the screenplay, the directing, and, of course, two most exceptional actors, especially Daisy Edger-Jones who plays the very interesting and complex Marianne, are two unforgettable characters. Together, the actors created magic. It was said that the first time they did a chemistry read, the first time, they had the room in tears.

Normal People is twelve roughly 30 minute episodes on Hulu. In the UK, this (with six) and Killing Eve were the only shows with episodes among the top ten in streaming for the first part of this year.

I read the book (which is really great) and thought an adaptation would be tough but they did a great job and really struck gold with the two leads.

I finished Perry Mason. I really disliked the first episode. I thought it was a complete mess, but I'm glad I stuck with the show because it got better and better.

watching the OJ miniseries thing (the one with ross, cuba gooding jr)

it's pretty good if not somewhat slow (could easily be 2-3 episodes less, IMO) but I think the kardashians stuff is a bit heavy-handed to say the least

So HBO Max's Raised by Wolves is the best thing on "TV" right now in my opinion. It's sci-fi. IMDB gives it a well deserved 8.6. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9170108/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0

If anybody doesn't have HBO Max but wants to watch it. Message me.

Ya. 3 episodes are already out. 2 more come out Thursday.

Ridley Scott has a mixed (good and bad) history when he directs sci-fi. But I like his direction so far.

I really did not enjoy watching Tariq the final couple seasons of Power. Did they make him more likeable?

Not really, but there was enough going on around him to make the show enjoyable. Method Man was a good addition to the show. I liked his character.

I am going to watch....but I am skeptical because I absolutely hated the character of Tariq in Power. I think one of the primary reasons I continued to watch was in hopes of him being taken out. Maybe since his character has aged a little, he will not be such a repulsive dbag in Ghost.

Power Ghost Book II is a sequel to Power. The First 2 episodes have been good. The sequel stars Mary J. Blige as a QueenPin. She's one cold beach.

Tariq's lead character now. Looks like he's going to follow his father in the business.

It's interesting, going to a Ivy league school and trying to get his mother out of jail while dealing. He and Monet are going to be rivals. Mary J Blige plays a cold-blooded mama to the hilt.

Method Man plays the slick talking lawyer Davis Maclean.

From what I've read there are going to be spin-offs up to Ghost Book V. If you're a Power fan you don't want to miss Ghost Book II and possible spinoffs.
