I watched all of it. And enjoyed it.

What you see is what you get. If you like the characters. If you like the pacing. Keep going. The plot moves fast, but the tone is more of the same. So, if it is your cup of tea. Keep going. If not. There is so much good TV our right now. Move on.

Man TV is so good right now. I've been binging so much.

Best shows of 2024 so far (in no particular order):
* Mr. & Mrs. Smith
* Shogun
* Curb
* Three Body Problem
* Tokyo Vice (Season 2)
* Invincible
* Ripley
* Fallout

About to watch the premiere of The Sympathizer.

I hear Baby Reindeer is very good as well. But haven't checked it out yet.
Waiting for Sugar to end. I hear its good. But I'm gonna binge it.

You are right. The Gentlemen deserves to be on the list.

I normally post a top 10 list every year in this thread.

This year is going to be impossible.
Might have to do a top 20 if things stay this way.

I give the premiere a 9+ out of 10.

Finished Fallout. Not a bad watch. The soundtrack brought back childhood memories. Dina Washington, The Inkspots, and Nat King Cole, to name a few were artists my mom and dad listened to. I wonder why its return is scheduled so far in the future, 2026?

I have two to go as I'm trying to savor the episodes. This just might be the best post apocalyptic movie/series I've seen. While this borrows from so many, the new theme, with the fiduciary responsibly of a corporation (quite possibly my single greatest personal issue with our government and SCOTUS rulings) being responsible for the apocalypse is a new one.

Just watched the first season of Tourist on netflix and they had the Ink Spots in that one as well, so hearing it immediately after when I start Fallout was a weird coincidence.

Tourist is okay, there is mystery but I'm liking Fallout a lot more already. Also helps that I really liked the games, and they seem to have did a good job capturing some of the feel of them

So much use of the Vietnamese dialect made it difficult to follow. Robert Downey Jr is somewhat unrecognizable.

It's well made. Well acted. It's captivating.

But the subject matter isn't enjoyable.

Rebel Moon. Good watch if you like SciFi action. Part 1 & 2 on NETFLIX. I guess viewer response will determine if there will be a Part 3.

I accidentally started with Part 2. I didn't like it. Cause I thought there was bad character development.

I just finished Fallout. What a great show! I didn’t read anything about the show or its director before I watched it and was getting major Westworld Blackhat vibes. Makes sense because it has some of the same people who did Westworld

Yeah it's Christopher Nolan's brother, Jonathan. I had no doubt he'd knock it out of the park. He referenced World of Warcraft in the making of Westworld and it was a evident he's a gamer through and through. It's completely faithful to the spirit of the Fallout universe from the ambience, music, aesthetics, the campy humor, the over the top violence...everything. I hope he has a vision after the first season because Westworld once the androids became free was a directionless pile of dog poo.

Not gonna lie. Wanted more action in the finale of Shogun. But it is still a 9/10 show. It'll be tough for another 2024 show to top.

Is this Shogun the same as Shogun Samurai?

I think Shogun’s Samurai is a 1978 film.

The Shōgun I’m talking about is a 10 episode show that came out on FX this year (2024).

One thing I will say. It doesn’t have as much action as you’d expect from a samurai show.
Reminds me of early seasons of Game of Thrones. Where it is a lot of conversations and political strategy.

On my IPTV there's a 10 episode series starring Shinichi Sonny Chiba and Kinnosuke Yorozuka. After the death of the second Tokugawa shogun Hidetaada, his sons lemitsu and Tadanaga shed family blood over the succession of the dynasty. Is this the plot of Shogun?

No. This series is fiction but based on actual historical figures like Tokugawa Ieyasu and William Adams. It stars Hiroyuki Sanada, Anna Sawai and Cosmo Jarvis.

It's streaming on Hulu here in the U.S. or Disney+ in other parts of the world like the UK.
