DC has overall been a mess in live action. But they’ve had some ok films with aqua man And WW. This one looks like it could be better than both. I’m curious

i got the vibe that this is going to be a real movie. just so happen its about a comic book character. vs it being a comic book movie.he's not a character in those trailers. he's a real life person. even when our boy ledger did his version perfectly. you still thought of it as a comic book character that he played the heck out of. This looks like an actual movie. like a biopic about the joker the person.

see my first post. it may be unfair to even compare this to any of the comic book films. because this looks like a biopic of joker the person.
This looks like a movie that would still be good even if the character wasn't the Joker from the comic books.
I gotta admit the clown makeup is freakin me out a little and giving off a John Wayne Gacy vibe. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant

9/10
9 for the terrifying performance by phoenix and virtually flawless technical elements
-1 for the immersion-breaking reminders that the universe belongs to a childrens comic book, and for the usage of an utterly predictable plot device/twist that they used screen time to spell out _________________ "All wars are civil wars, because all men are brothers."

It was pretty much Todd Phillips deciding he wanted to pay homage to Scorsese's The King of Comedy and Taxi Driver but he used the Joker name to drive interest. I thought it was a good movie but a bad Joker/Batman universe movie.

Great movie regardless of its comic book DNA. Creating a new (alternate) origin story for perhaps the greatest villain in comic lore made it even better. _________________ Not a legend

I agree. One of the best movies I've seen in years. Joaquin Phoenix was brilliant as Arthur Fleck. I love Taxi Driver but Phoenix's individual performance outshines Travis Bickle in my eyes. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant

The most unique DC or Marvel movie to date. Heavily influenced by Taxi Driver and King of Comedy.
There are some things I could nitpick about it. But it was good enough that I don't want to. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”
I honestly can't stop thinking of this movie. It's been 5 days. Truly (bleep) fantastic. That scene where he starts dancing in the bathroom after his first kills. Give them all the academy awards. This is what comic book movies should be. Raw character study. _________________ A banana is killed every time a terrible thread or post is made. Save the bananas. Stop creating terrible posts!
