so they say. but you do know people have paid the ransoms before. they just dont put that out there to the public. i would go as far to say they have paid many ransoms. we're just told that line because overall we're just not going to pay everyone every time. but in a situation like this, when we think they are probably not trying to harm the people and we do the math "If i send the seals in and things go well, the mission will cost $2.3 million.. then i will have to US-splain to Uganda why we had our boots on their grounds and why didnt we allow their boots to do the work...we can make that discussion go better if we give them something also. ehhhh, lets just pay the ransom and call it a day. if we catch up to the kidnappers later on, or if a drone does we'll let that be that."
