There is a lot of stupid money out there, every year some team signs a Mozgoof for stupid money...

So what if:
Some Team with loads of cap space and no center (like the Clippers) offers Cousins big money and he signs with them.

Then what if Durant leaves for the Knicks.

And Thompson, seeing the exodus, decides the Warriors have had a good enough run and leaves for the Lakers.

That would bring some huge parody to the West and it would be a dogfight between the top six teams (Jazz, Lakers, Warriors, Rockets, Thunder and Nuggets)!

YEAH...

That's why Cousins may be the most realistic option of the three for Los Angeles.

Who's paying max money for Cousins? He really doesn't look that good out there.

This is why Klay isn't the lock that the media describes. If NY lands Durant and Kyrie (hopefully w/o Zion) then LA may have the best AD offer by default. Even if not, Klay comes home to be the missing piece.

Ball/Caruso/Bonga
Thompson/Hart
Ingram/Bullock(cap hold)
James/Kuzma
McGee(cap hold)/J.Hayes (1st rd)/Wagner

Consider that you still have the room exception and tremendous shooting with Klay, Bullock and Wagner. If the right deal is out there maybe they swap 10 and Kuz for a stud. Klay being able to see himself slotted with a rounded out lineup may tip the scale.

OKC is a top team? Didn't know that.

Clippers will probably be better with two max contracts available this summer.

Also, the NBA is just not as exciting after Kobe retired.
