Zu will be getting spanked by the Rockets while the rest of the Lakers are in Cancun drinking margaritas and...that other thing.

Nothing wrong with Zubac. He did nothing but raised his game while playing for the Lakers... only to be traded for trash.

Anyone that is traded for trash has a right to be pissed off. Magic, the clown in the FO, has given away talent for nothing.

He’s mediocre and Harrell outplays him nightly. Glad he’s in the playoffs but he’ll be sitting home in a couple of weeks and we’ll see if clippers even bring him back

Damn, lotta hate. Zubac was a nice Lakers trade chip, a young developing soft touch big that can be 'hyped' to your trading partner as a young Marc Gasol... but we only got Muscala out of it

Or, how about this.

If we get KD, we can renounce Zub or trade him for a 2050 2nd round protected pick?

The vitriol for Zubac or any player that has the audacity to say anything even slightly negative about the Lakers is kind of comical.

No, he is not an All-Star. He is simply a young developing role player that is contributing to his current team. Seems like the league is full of them these days. I'm not going to hold it against him if he is feeling good about himself and going to the playoffs.

Just another stupid move to keep the coveted "2 max plan" alive. Lakers FO keeps making these questionable decisions to sell the fantasy. More a Hollywood strategy then a smart NBA strategy but this is where we are these days.

Current plan feels like a longstanding movie pitch for the next blockbuster Die Hard movie. The dream is Willis can be paired with Stallone, The Rock or anyone from Game of Thrones. May not win an Academy Award but it will be a huge moneymaker at the box office.

Let Zubac crow a bit. He has worked hard to be a contributor. Now he gets the chance in the playoffs. I wish him well. Along with all the squandered players the Lakers have cast off in recent years.

The thing is we could have a successful 2 max plan AND Zub.

It's just CBA 101. If you miraculously have a commitment from KD, getting rid of Zub's 1.9m hold is easy.

If you get the same from KL/Klay/other 7-9 year max FA, you can keep Zub's cap hold.

If you get no max level FA, you can keep Zub.

The problem is not Zu going away. Is getting (bleep) in return for a valuable, cheap contract

As I pointed out in my long winded response.

IMO it was a reactionary move by the FO that was hype over substance. Not well thought out or having any real value. Just a reminder "move" to make a move after looking like idiots in the AD fiasco.

The Clippers are expected to shuffle their roster this summer and might need to renounce Zubac to clear additional cap space.

Yet they felt comfortable with him being on their roster for the rest of this season.

What return did you want? If the team is clearing max cap space, taking back salaries and/or draft picks is counter to the plan.

Not one person here has said he'll be a superstar like Embiid.

Not one person has projected him even as an all star.

People have only complained about losing a good, cheap asset for no reason.

This is why our management is currently going through a rough time... they only think in simplistic terms of getting the two stars instead of the subtle details that form a great team.

Even if we land a Kawhi, or trade for AD... it won't be successful unless we integrate quality cheap role players to provide a bench.

Getting rid of Svi and Zubac wasn't wise if you are trying to stack a team with three superstars... or even two for that matter.
