IMO this is a two man race between Giannis and Harden. I would pick Giannis since the Bucks have the best record in the NBA, but Harden's statline is the most absurd I have ever seen. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
Harden. Love him or hate him, but he carried the Rockets when they needed it. I might give "best player" to Giannis or Paul George, but Harden was the most valuable player this year.

Giannis will win based on his team's improvement. But you can't go wrong with either guy.
I'd hate to see a player like Harden get back to back MVPs but I think its the right move.
Harden somehow carried a skeleton crew team for the bulk of the season from being a bottom dweller to a top 4 seeded team in the West with countless high scoring, singled handed efforts. _________________ (bleep) Kawhi

Just like Mr. Tipton in My Cousin Vinny says that no self-respecting Southerner uses instant grits, I can't, in good conscience, pick Harden over Giannis here.

I must say the Rockets (at full strength) have much more talent behind Harden than what I gave credit for. Gordon is a very underrated offensive weapon, Capela one of the best rim running, rim protecting bigs, PJ Tucker an all defense level 3 and D wing, underrated bench players like Austin Rivers, and CP3 who is still an All-Star level talent when healthy. _________________ (bleep) Kawhi

I agree with this. No team relied as heavily on their superstar as the Rockets did on Harden. He single-handedly brought them from 14th to 4th place with a myriad of injuries to their team. Giannis also missed 10 games and plays in the weaker conference and yet their teams were only 7 games off.
The Bucks had a far better season than anyone expected while I think Houston finished worse than expected. For that reason and because Giannis is just awesome I would give it to him.
