I still remember when Darius Johnson Odom was the next D-Wade.

@ramonashelburne

This is really NBA minutia but.. Today’s Lakers-Clippers trade is the first between the teams since 1983! Norm Nixon, Eddie Jordan and a 1986 2nd-round pick that became Jeff Hornacek went from the Lakers to the Clippers for Byron Scott, Swen Nater and a pick (Bruce Dalrymple)

Wow, I don't remember Horny being in it. If they had kept Horny, then they would have won the trade eventually because Jeff ultimately was better than Byron.

Even after the infamous Dan Gilbert calls to the league office after the CP3 trade, it seemed like CLE was always a willing trade partner who was willing to engage in fair deals or helps us out on less significant ones, etc. Maybe the Clippers can become one of those partners for the Lakers now.

I was hanging out with my friend Conor today and I mentioned to him about the trade, to which he replied, "Who da fook is that guy?"

My sentiments exactly, my friends.

To be fair, I said the same thing with that "Kuzma" kid when he was drafted.

Also to be fair - Muscala has been in the league 6 years and we're still like "who the fook is this guy?"

Yeah. He's slipped under the radar. But I think he's a solid role player. I'll give him a shot b/f judging his game.

Totally - I'm trying to have this approach. Even though it's clear most of us would've rather just cut Beas, let's give him a chance. At worst we see more Mo instead and some would argue that's better!

I think both Reggie and Muscala are going to improve us. Both space the floor better for us which will help conceal some of the big weaknesses in Luke's offense. I like the mobility Muscala brings too and he isn't a big rebounder but I read that he's one of the best at boxing out.

I have to say this was bad asset management and would be considered a horrible trade but don't forget we're in "win now" mode with Bron. Eventually all the young guys will be gone by 2020 cause our window is only for 4 years with the King (assuming he doesnt extend).

When Lebron retires, it's back to square one. There'll be nothing left.

what a bunch of whiny girls

Waaaa someday Lebron is going to retire
Waaaa we traded a guy we probably would not be able to sign in the offseason with our max fa plan

I like zu.....but come on jesus it was not that long ago when nobody even wanted him on the team and he was playing in the developmental league and people thought he was going to bust out of the NBA

He has turned it around since then....yes...you know what? He could also just as easily fade away

he has a heck of lot more potential than Muscala, his dad isn't a racist, he's arguably better right now, etc

No doubt he has more potential but a couple of things

- He seems to fit the offense we are employing around Lebron James (can hit an outside shot and space the floor

- Zu is probably gone in the offseason?

It just seems that too many want to whine about everything.....lets see how the season plays out

He slipped under the radar due to the teams he played for. Atlanta being the team he played for most. I dare any of you to name me all of the hawk's players. triple dare you?
Then he went to philly for a season. did any of you know all of the philly players? probably not. You knew their main guys and fultz. JJ, Embid, Covington, Simmons..that other little pg...ummmm.uhhhh... exactly

Since Zubac has been gone we really miss his size in the paint. Embiid just waltzed through skinny Chandler and McGee like they were not even there.

Terrible trade. Why? just why.

Talk about over reaction. First we sign no FA shooters in the offseason and go all in on the playmaker/defense thing. The team actually plays pretty well and is the 4'th seed.

Then unrelated to the lack of FA shooters the team suffers a bunch of injuries. What do the Lakers then do? Trade away our young talent and bring in shooters. The problem with the team was not the lack of shooting it was the injuries.

I actually like Reggie- that kid plays defense so that trade was no so bad. But we already miss Zubac.
