Asked a few years ago many would have said yes

He's still averaging triple doubles. Simple stats, it's a no brainer

But he's getting so much criticism, maybe it's not a shoe in anymore

He'll average a Triple Double 3 seasons in a row and is an MVP, will potentially win one more before his career is done. He'll likely make the HOF,

He's an MVP winner who averaged a trip dub. Drazen Petrovic is in the HOF.

I think he should be but that decision also depends on who else is being nominated that year. Tracy McGrady got in on his first ballot and Westbrook's current resume is as, if not more, impressive than his.

How many championships will Westbrook need to win before he is considered top 5 GOAT? His numbers are probably projected better than anyone else in history at this point if he keeps this up. Lebron is already being considered by the media to be toe to toe in the Jordan conversation with just half the rings. Does Westbrook leapfrog Lebron if he wins 2?

More like a first ballot MF'er, but yeah, no doubt he is.

If T-Mac can get in then RW is a lock

According to ESPN, 3 if his name is LeBron, and he can afford to lose 9 others

HOF for sure but say he gets another triple dub season this year, 3 in a row but never win a chip... where is he in the pantheon of player? I mean if KD hasn't cracked top 10 with 2 NBA finals MVP, is WB in top 20 with 3 no ring triple dub seasons?

He's nowhere near the top 20 of all-time greatest players. Still, he's a first ballot guy.

I might move KD past Shaq on my list. But not yet.

My list:

Jordan
Kareem
Kobe
Magic
Wilt
Russell
Shaq
Hakeem
Duncan
Bird
LeBron
Jerry West
Moses Malone
Durant
Wade
Dr-J
Curry
Big O
David Robinson
Karl Malone

Steph changed the modern game and is picking up rings in the process with an impressive Finals Record too. If KD picks up a Finals MVP again this year, he's 7th all time in my books. If Steph gets it, then he'll be right behind LeBron and if KD doesn't get it but plays well, I'll have to put him past LeBron for 11th.

Every player in the league is massively criticized, that's just how people are these days. He has an MVP, a couple scoring titles, a bunch of all NBA selections, a bunch of allstar selections. He could retire today and he would still be a shoe in.

I'd say that Westbrook's ceiling is Karl Malone right now. However, there is much of the story left to be written.

That’s actually pretty good spot for WB. Karl Malone with 1 ring would’ve been what, top 10 ish along with Hakeem. Ur right, WB is only 30, TBD

I believe Bob McAdoo is the only MVP winner who didn't get into the Hall on the first ballot.

Yeah, this is the NBA, not the NFL. Everybody gets in.

This is a ridiculously easy question to answer and I don't even like Russ - Yes, he will get in 1st ballot with Harden who I also dislike (just don't like the flopping style - give the dude techs for falling on every 3 pointer).

A better question to answer would be, will D Rose make the HOF given every MVP makes it in. I'm somewhat inclined to say no, but G Hill made it in. Maybe if D-rose didn't choke that NCAA ship away or he continues the resurgence of this year for a few more years. I'm sure someone will prove me wrong citing some stats, but to me, D-rose = Penny. Absolute beast during the early days, would have been a Top25ish player if not for injuries.

Penny Haradway is a good comparison. Of course, Rose is having a surprising revival season, so if he has a couple of all-star seasons he could sneak in.

Yeah, I think Westbrook will be a first ballot HoF player on the basis of winning the league MVP all by itself. As long as he stays largely healthy for two or three more seasons, he's gonna have consolidated his chances for first ballot status. He's been performing in an Oscar Robertson-like career territory for a while (statistically, scoring, rebounding, dishing.) He's a better defender than the Big O was, and he's still just 30.
