Which breakfast carb reigns supreme?
I'm a french toast guy myself.
But my girl thinks she can convert me with a "German Oven Pancake".

French Toast. But it’s not really a fair comparison. French Toast is layered in multiple flavors before it even gets a topping.

I’ve had French toast so good you didn’t want to put syrup on it.

Now we are really breaking out of the parameters. And if we are going to do so, Beaver Tails.

Precisely. The weak sibling of the bread family.

French Toast on its own.
Crape (thin pancake) if you allow for toppings.

That looks like a better version of that German oven pancake thing. Might have to give it a try.

Fluffy home made Pancakes with peanut butter and maple syrup just like grandma used to make.

Only way to eat fluffy pancakes.

If you like runny eggs, throw one on top to get sweet + salty + savory all in one delicious bite.

Freedom Toast has always been my favorite.
Soaks up the Mrs Buttersworth and the butter too

Peanut butter and jelly waffle sandwiches though..
After you cook up the waffle apply pb&J close
Apply butter to exposed sides
Bake broil
Eat

Could probably dip that baked PBJ Waffle in cannabudder

Blueberry banana pancakes made from scratch. Fresh blueberries and top them with real maple syrup not that high fructose corn syrup mess they call maple flavored syrup. Cooked blueberries inside the pancakes are a tart moist counterpoint to the subtle sweetness of genuine maple syrup.

The key to good pancakes is melting the butter on the stove top before adding it to the other ingredients (never use boxed pancake mix). If you do that, the pancakes turn out fluffy.

But, I agree with others, a good French Toast is superior to a good waffle of pancake. I just made french toast with left over banana nut bread and people who hated eating the bread were going for seconds when turned into french toast.

was in Savannah for a long weekend....went to this hole in the wall looking diner that everyone recommended....packed wall to wall.....by the time I got my food, I took a bite of the French Toast before I expended the energy to reach for the syrup, and I immediately knew it would be a crime to risk the syrup not being of similar quality to the amazing French Toast. I left that place in pain I ate so much, but it was probably the best breakfast I had ever had....the fried potatoes, the biscuits and sausage gravy....even the milk and juice tasted better.

when Im really lazy and have old stale bread I sometimes make french toast but without the stuff you'd use to make it sweet. So I just dump some salt and pepper over it and some herbs and eat it like that

But regular french toast is great as well. some good syrup needed, but damn those sticky fingers
