We're right in the middle of the pack in strength of schedule too so I'm hoping we can keep this up and hover around this spot in the standings and hopefully come out with home court advantage for the playoffs.

Not bad for the first quarter of a season with the kind of roster turnover we've had.

Not bad at all.

Separation between the teams is very close. Only 1.5 GB first, but only 2.5 GB from being out of the playoffs.

Let’s hope we can keep it up.

Totally. Good news though is that we're trending in the right direction and except for 3 losses (Orlando, Orlando, Toronto), we've been in every single game despite injuries, suspensions, and roster turnover.

Seems like we've actually find what is working for us and we're winning games now that we probably would have lost earlier in the year.

We have been quite fortunate with teams losing their top players against us. Does feel like we are coming together, but, we’re also a couple games removed from a 30pt blowout.

We were also down 17 against the lowly Suns at one point.

Gotta do better. We still have a lot of problems.

It's nice to be back in a position where we can just watch the loss column again. We're tied for 4th in the loss column, 2 losses behind the top 3.

Darn. Just saw we are now 5-5 in road games. Until a few games ago we were nearly equal home and away. Lets get back to even.

The road games factor seems to be offset by the strength of schedule in december.

Then again we did lose both games to the magic

It's been a weird start to the season.

The best teams from last year in the west are doing so-so or poorly.

14 of the 15 teams in the west are in playoff contention, with none more than 1.5 games out of a playoff spot.

The deck could get shuffled in a lot of ways. Could be a wild ride unless the Warriors wake up

never seen this level of competition before. I'm concerned with how well LBJ holds up because there are very few easy wins this season and we basically need him to carry this team every night just to solidify a playoff spot.

LeBron is averaging 34.7 minutes per game, which is the lowest in his career. Ideally you are right, we need to maintain his legs. I would like to see Luke bring those minutes down to just under 34 until maybe after all-star break. Then after the all-star break, he can start playing maybe 36-40 mins consistently.

During next five game we have 3 away and 2 home games.

vsSAS W
atSAS L
at MEM L ( maybe we can pull this off)
vsMIA W
at HOU L

I would be ecstatic if we can go 3-2 here. My prediction is probably 2-3, hope I am wrong.

keeping it under 34 would be great for the entire season. The rest of the team needs to step up.

I think LBJ minutes will decrease as our young core becomes better with the time. I think Luke is waiting situations where BI and Kuz can take over and maybe even sit LBJ few games. If I am on Luke place I would try to keep him fresh during home games and to use him on the road more. Young guys often play much better at home where they are more comfortable.

So ideal scenario:

Home games 29-31 min
Road games around 35-36 min

And probably, towards the end of the season, LeBron will get some DNP-Rest after we clinch our playoff spot.

Can't wait to see Playoffs Bron

This will be the Lakers benchmark if how much really they improved, or just got lucky with the schedule and other west game results. If they manag to win 4 out of this 5, then i can say that they are title contender now.

Before the season started I would of never even thought about us being in 1st in the west. But seeing how the standings are so far, it's not impossible. We have a legit chance.

but they wont be a title contender until they beat GSW twice during the season and the other 2 games give them a run for their money. in addition to doing the same with the other top top 3 teams in the west and same for the top 3 in the east. you're not a title contender based on record alone. you're a title contender when you can actually ...Contend for a title. meaning you have the ability and have shown you have the ability to defeat these top 3 teams in both conferences. because odds are those are the teams you will have to beat to get to the wcf's and win in the finals. assuming you dont flame out in round 1. lol.

Next game vs. Spurs will be a back to back for them, @Utah on Tuesday night. Lakers need to take advantage...don’t let a Pop coached team hang around the WC playoff race.
