1. John Beilein
2. Etorre Messina
3. Bill Self

Any of those 3 would be great replacements

Even Mike Brown is smart enough to build a coaching staff full of head coaches.

No team in the league will EVER interview Mark Madsen and Jesse Murmuys but hey, Luke has his buddies with him and that's all that matters.

Just anybody. Throw out this garbage coaching staff once and for all.

Messina and even Hammon are not currently available, right? I am not aware of assistant coaches interviewing for head coaching positions with another team during the season.....they are under contract.

The thread title and focus isn't about "currently available" coaches, though. It's about potential replacements. That's a notable difference in the candidate pool.

he did, and he is 65 years old. Beilein's gift is taking a bunch of 4 Star prospects and putting them in a system and position to play like 5 Star prospects.....do not really see him as a fit for a Lebron team.

Bill Self has cheated for over a decade to be successful....paying players is not an advantage in the NBA.

this thread says it all....there is nobody that is available that is an improvement on Luke.

This is 100% false.

who is your suggestion?

Right now, it's pointless to hire a coach with Luke's dimwit coaching staff on the bench but the thinking that no one available is better than Luke is the type of thinking that would cause teams to never fire a coach. I don't know if you meant nobody available at this VERY moment so if that's what you meant, I agree with you, although I rather have Lue right now if I had to choose. But in the offseason, there are 29 other teams with 4-5 coaches on each bench, you do your research and interview 5-8 of them and pick one. They would be available if the Lakers had a head coaching spot open.

yep, i'm saying right now there's nothing viable. I'm all for visiting in the offseason, but I don't see a point to blow out Luke, just to have Shaw take over for 60 games and then find someone else.

I'd rather see how the season goes with Luke at this point.

no, I am pretty sure it was created in response to firing Luke soon.....nobody is talking about a replacement for next season in November.

To think we had Messina, Snyder, and Clifford all under our staff at one point.

Wonder if he has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave for a NBA HC position? He's my favorite college coach.

Honorable mentions to:

Frank Vogel
Tom Izzo
Bob Mckillop

feels like a reach....51-31, losing in the 1st round of playoffs does not scream "championship team".

Ettore Messina and Quin Snyder as offensive coaches, and Steve Clifford as defensive coaches.

Say what we will of Mike Brown, but his idea of how to form a staff is miles ahead of Luke's/.

And what exactly is Luke's gift? Nothing.

Beilein's offensive sets would absolutely work in the NBA. You are trying too hard to discredit available coaches so that the clamoring for Luke's firing stops.

Self also has a great system on both ends, he cheated to get top recruits just like EVERYONE at a major sports program in college.

And of course no rebuttal for Etorre Messina who should be given an extensive look. He has been a winner everywhere he's gone and has been learning from the GOAT (Popovich).

There's also others that could make a great difference for our guys like Frank Vogel and Tom Izzo.

Few, Wright and K would probably be the only college coaches I would have interest in.....but I think K is probably the only one that could truly control a Lebron team.
