I know a lot of us here are calling for Luke's ousting or a shakeup of the staff, but who are some potential candidates, either as replacements for this current staff or a new HC? Whom can we poach?

The previous FO really allowed this inexperienced dude to pick out his own staff and not only that.... the entire staff is composed of his actual real life friends. Like my god....

Even if we fire Luke, we're just promoting another Luke clone his bench. S/o to Luke for thinking 2 steps ahead, he essentially saved himself from being fired mid-season with that type of thinking.

If it’s mid mid-season, I’m sure it’s Mark Jackson, who’s signed to Clutch. And I’m sure Mark Jackson has his squad lined up for if or when that time comes.

Would love to see us bring in Becky Hammon, would be cool if the Lakers are the 1’s who become the first franchise to promote a woman as HC.

Plenty of options: Hammon, Messina, even Phil Jackson. At least he would hire the right damn assistant and would be given respect immediately.

Just anybody. Throw out this garbage coaching staff once and for all.

Phil Jackson? really? he's been out of coaching for 7 or 8 years. think we'd want someone a bit more 'modern'

Messina and even Hammon are not currently available, right? I am not aware of assistant coaches interviewing for head coaching positions with another team during the season.....they are under contract.

Right now, it's pointless to hire a coach with Luke's dimwit coaching staff on the bench but the thinking that no one available is better than Luke is the type of thinking that would cause teams to never fire a coach. I don't know if you meant nobody available at this VERY moment so if that's what you meant, I agree with you, although I rather have Lue right now if I had to choose. But in the offseason, there are 29 other teams with 4-5 coaches on each bench, you do your research and interview 5-8 of them and pick one. They would be available if the Lakers had a head coaching spot open.
