I did not realize at the time how lucky I was growing up listening to him for Laker Games and then hear Madden & Summerall for football.

Nobody has come remotely close in either sport since...

Every time I have to listen to that jinxing atrocity Billy Mac go "Deep and down!"... like it's some kind of clever catch phrase... I imagine Chick rolling over in his grave.

He is horrible... and adds nothing to my viewing experience.

I tolerate Stu because of the sentimental ties... but I don't know how Billy Mac ever landed this gig.

I've never learned one single thing from listening to him... he's a complete zero in my book.

Chick... you were the greatest... miss hearing your calls.

every call with BM is like the game winner...even the first basket
Dude don't get that excited there will be 100 more before it's over
You're right you can't learn from that...he serves at Jeanie's desires

As for Stu...I quit listening to him on Nov 9? 2017 when he said the keys to the game were containing Jody Meeks...I thought it was a joke but when it turned out it wasn't I turned on the opponents broadcast and have been happy ever since

I pay for cable so I might as well watch it rather than relying on delayed or spotty streaming. I listen to ESPN or TNT when the game's national.

I'm sure Billy Mac is a decent guy... but growing up listening to Chick and Vin... I can't take listening to him.

At least if it's a former player you can gain some insight from the player perspective... he offers nothing other than spewing obvious sh*t we already know.

I have cable only for the Lakers games that I watch on my computer...I watch the pregame which is always terrible and the postgame show which is always great with interviews and replays(the only time I hear BM)
When the game comes on I find a stream...don't care if it's behind a couple of minutes ... a small price to pay to keep that BM out of my ears

great thread, baba joon. I've come to learn that most of my emotional connection to the Lakers was created by Chick

Happy Birthday to a beautiful man

I didn’t know how lucky I was to have him until I moved to Portland, Oregon for a few years and had to listen to those 2 F***TARDS

That’s sweet man. Really

He came to my elementary school in Santa Monica years and years ago now.
He was the coolest calmest NICEST dude. Anyone who’s ever held Love for this great franchise misses him very much, I would be willing to bet.
