Clay Helton or Luke Walton....
Go! |
Luke as Swan already said he’s coaching next year |
He did?!
GTFOH! |
Helton is basically replacing most of his staff....heard a rumor they may try to bring in Kliff Kingbury as OC, and introduce the Air Raid offense. |

Good thing Luke has been giving the team days off from practice. It seems to really be paying dividends.
Dude is in over his head. |

Maybe Bron puts on his GM hat and fires his ass. |
Why won't Magic be accountable for this. Spending almost 30 million on Ronda/KCP/Lance. Infatuated with guards and ball handlers, the hell with our front court and defense. |
This. Magic and Lebron are equally accountable too. _________________ Let's Go Lakers!!! |

This loss is squarely on LeBron, he's been a ball stopper in the half court this game and outside of a couple good plays, his defensive position and effort has been atrocious.
Game #20 is here, we're 11-9, I have us getting 47 wins with the 7th seed, and it looks to be that way.
LeBron can't expect to all the calls when you're the one initiating contact or when somebody breathes on you. He's finding out that there are no vacations in the West. _________________

5-34
I bet DeAndre Jordan could hit more than 5, if Dallas let him shoot all game. |

For the first time for me, I'm starting to question the competency of Luke Walton. Lakers are not focused, not doing the fundamentals, and the young players are not improving. Something is off. |

I hope Tyson decides to send a message to Murray next time he comes into the paint when he is on the floor. Kid needs an attitude adjustment. |

I was at the game. We sat behind the Lakers bench. Few things that I notified:
- LeBron was really gassed coming back to the bench in the first quarter. He was visibly hurting. The altitude is no joke here in Denver
- Ingram and Lonzo brought some energy in the 2nd quarter and kept the game close even though the 3 just wouldn’t fall
- the game was over when Jokic hit the back to back three. LeBron was done after that
- Josh Hart is not himself. He looked really slow and heavy out there
- The Lakers half court offense is non existent. My friends who don’t watch much of the Lakers were asking me what the hell it is we plan to do out there. I had no answer
- God bless his soul but Lance kept trying for about 6 more minutes than any other Laker
- LeBron body language by the bench was very disheartening. He barley acknowledged Luke. He kept talking to Rondo , and at some points was very animated. I can’t remember a single interaction with Luke.
All in all this is just a (bleep) game to flush given the Lonzo injury and some of the players being really gassed, or it’s the beginning of the end for Luke.
The house was full of Laker fans, wish the team gave us a fight to root for. |

That’s a beautiful breakdown bro thanks, interesting on re: Luke and LeBron, perhaps it is another David Blatt situation.... won’t be surprised if Luke is fired soon or maybe I’m reading to much into it. |

Everyone's concern about the Lakers is coming true....
They have NO shooters!!
NO ONE can shoot outside....
Such an anemic effort out there....
And sorry, its not all on Lebron.
You got very little from most guys.
You did get a HUGE game from Lonzo again. An amazing 7 points. You go Lonzo!! Awesome.

Yes, great breakdown and sorry, Luke doesn't have a system down. I don't see any system. yes, I get the altitude and folks not feeling great but they took a pounding. The Lakers defense sucks and they can't shoot and run no offense.
As much as I want Luke to succeed, it still looks like he is "figuring out" the job. I think he's got a bunch of novices as assistant coaches too.
Not sure Magic liked the effort tonight. |

This defense is laugh out loud bad, the simplest rotations are missed time after time. You get paid millions of dollars, take some pride in it... |

Yeah, it don’t feel right. I was pretty stoked when we hired him. Former Laker. Champion (both player and coaching staff). Played under PHIL. Studied under KERR........ My hope was we might be looking at our very own Greg Poppovich, if all goes well.

Running with the Nuggets in the thin air of Denver is folly.
A lot of teams have fallen into the trap.
The best way to win is to slow it down and keep the players fresh and short. The Nuggets are used to it.
But shooting is a big part and the Lakers need shooters. |

Lakers got steam rolled by a good Nuggets team in Denver. Simple as that.
Nuggets have the ability to do that to other teams, especially at home. When the three starts dropping they are impressive. Deep roster and they play well together at times. Nuggets were playing hard and sharing the ball.
Actually a good example of what continuity and chemistry of HC, system and players can achieve if given the time to do so.
Lakers are still trying to adjust to all the ramifications of the James circus. Or the push me, pull you contradictions of the roster. Players are still trying to understand their roles and expectations. Maybe they work that out over the course of the season, perhaps they never do as the potential changes start coming.
Chemistry is not going to get any better if they fire Walton, trade away core players or revamp the roster next summer.
Pretty much what I expected. Some nights the Lakers will be "on" and look great, others they will lay an egg and look confused like last night. Only a problem if they start pointing fingers at one another. Honestly expecting that Windhorst article any day now.
Disappointing effort last night. Hope to see a better team against the Pacers. |
