No offensive sets the first 3 quarters, get out and run in transition for offense and attack the paint, and than in the 4th quarter run a slow and plotting offense, trying to run offensive sets when the team hadn't for the first 3 quarters and watch LeBron save the team from Luke's Mike McCarthy-ness in the 4th. Biggest positive since the Chandler acquisition is that the team has that "switch" and can turn it up on offense and defense when it matters. Same thing that they did against the Cav's, Utah, and Magic game just recently. Team has shown that they can get stops when it matters so far due to Chandler, as the Lakers now have 2 starting centers that the Lakers can play the whole game with no drop off.

Our wins are all dependent on 34 year old Lebron.

We have no one consistent to take the load off Lebron once in awhile.

Lebron ball on offense and hope you outscore the opponents is the defensive philosophy. So far they have had some success.

I don't know but it's better than the last 4 or 5 years team identities. I'm happy to be in the playoff hunt again. Anything beyond that this season is unreasonable imo. People are just looking for reasons to complain.

These types of handles (descriptions of "team identity", "chemistry", "core strengths") will reveal themselves eventually. We won't have to search for them.

As of today, the team is not playing together real well. LeBron is winning games by asserting his own play in circumstances that last year's squad would have never been in position to contend. Give the Lakers 40 games and we'll see what may be possible. Right now, they are a work in progress and wholly dependent on LeBron to win.

Identity ?

The 2018/19 Laker identity resembles (gasp) the play of 2014/15 CLE Cavaliers, except that we're in the Western Conference. A LeBron arrival and a set of very awkward surrounding pieces has proven tricky to leverage the potential of the young guys. The results are almost all LeBron-based.

Seeing as how the wild spree of one year signings of vet FAs (McGee, Rondo, Lance, Beasley) produced just one productive player (JaVale of all people), I guess just making the playoffs this Spring will be a big enough step for me.

The identity longer term, for next year ? Attempt the signing of another top FA and repeat process.
