Ever since the early 90s the Western Conference has been the better and deeper conference. Even when Jordan's Bulls were winning titles for much of the 90s, the west still was clearly the better conference because they had more title contenders.

Now it seems like it's changing. So far this season, the Rockets suck, and even though Denver and Portland are playing well I don't think either team is for real as far as being real contenders.

But in the east Toronto is hot, Milwaukee is playing extremely well, Boston will round into shape and now Philly will be a contender with the Butler trade. Even a team like Indiana could win 50 games in the east.

All in all this is good news for our Lakers because it should mean a slightly easier journey back to the top of the west if the only elite team out here is GSW.

Tough to answer, the best team by far is in the West. Does potentially having more second tier teams make the East stronger?

The answer to your poll question is No, but the answer to the question in your title is Yes. At a minimum, the balance of power is finally starting to even out for the first time in 20 years.

Warriors are still the best team overall in the NBA, but the 2nd and 3rd best teams are probably in the eastern conference. Rockets have completely fallen apart and the Wolves are in chaos.

NO Look at the East and West teams The East has improved but they're not there yet, overall.

The best team in the league is Golden State. Everyone else in the west is playing for second place. I could see us finishing 3rd, I could see us finishing 9th. The west is pretty wide open.

The east probably has more good teams than the west. Right now the east looks like the future.

The question you have to ask is who is the 2nd best team in the west? I think the jury is still out on that one.

If KD goes east I'd say yes.

But now, top to bottom, West is still much better.

nope west is still best by far. Teams have a better record in the east because competition is much less.

The east just looks good because the Lebron reign of terror is over.
