I don't have anything against trading Puig nor do I really care about these mythical emotional factors but I think in a series like the one we just had we miss guys like him, Kemp and Utley. They always showed up for these moments..either on the bench or on the field last year. I could be wrong but we didn't take this series seriously at all and we got whooped. It's early and it's usually irrelevant but you have to show some heart sometimes.

Maybe I'm saying this because Puig went off last year @ Busch stadium in that one series but it just felt like we missed that veteran leadership in this series.

I really hate Dave Roberts. Our process is such bulls*t. Joe Kelly has been struggling this year, and we all know that. So he gets through an inning unscathed in the 6th. BE HAPPY WITH THAT! Why is the plan for him to pitch another inning? First off, you're playing with fire since he's not throwing well, so just be happy he got through one inning unscathed and build his confidence back up. Secondly, the dude is not used to pitching multiple innings.

I was very surprised to saw him coming out for the 2nd inning also.

Urias finally starting to play as a human. Glad we had the strong start or this would be a pretty painful first month.

Every year, as we get out the gate slow, I get so annoyed. But then come August, we're always right back to where we need to be and I remind myself not to get too worked up early in season.

But as much as the bullpen has been struggling, you can point to this slide starting the second Ryu went down. That game, in essence, became a bullpen game and they performed admirably before succumbing.

What we really needed after that was our started to eat up some innings, but alas, Stripling, Maeda, Buehler and Urias just weren't up to task. They all lasted, what, 4 innings each? Hence taxing our already suspect pen.

We really need Kershaw and Hill back. Get Urias and Strip back to the pen where I feel they'd be better for us.

But not overly worried. We will be fine.

So . . . The Dodgers offense has been exceptional. The are leading the leading in just about every major category.

When they take the field, though they've struggled some recently, the defense is still pretty good, at a glance anyway. But then there are guys who stand on the hill in the middle of the diamond. What happened to them?

Pitching injuries have been an issue for the Dodgers for years, and this continues this year, but to be 10th in ERA and ERA+ with this good of a staff has me wondering what it might be.

And might it be, dare I say it, Grandal? I've never been a fan of framing, as it is a black box stat that is measured completely behind the scenes, with no transparency. But if this continues, I might get to a wonderin' otherwise. Yes, Milwaukee is right there with us in ERA and ERA+ but it might take some time for Grandal to learn the pitchers well enough to make the subtle adjustments to see improvement for his new team.

small sample, but Bellinger's start feels real......I am sure it will regress some, but I will not be surprised if him and Yelich are on the leader board in the Triple Crown categories all year. It is silly that he is still 23.

The Dodgers have not won a game since I posted that they might be able to build a nice cushion early in the division.

I guess the odds are always against, but he finished strong last season post All Star break...August & September. His power dipped, but he was hitting the ball well.

Of course the Dodgers are going to let Puig and Kemp beat them. Of course Jansen throws Kemp an 0-2 strike, despite having Angel F'ing Hernandez umpiring behind the plate.

The Dodgers are just so damn frustrating. They really are.

Was slightly off the plate but I agree..garbage pitch. Throw 4 sliders in the dirt if you have to..Kemp will swing at one of them. OMG WALKOFF AS I TYPE THIS LOL
