Nolan or Rendon (just as players without taking into consideration trade pieices and contract), who you got right now in their careers?

Where are they playing?

Arenado for his career has around an .830 OPS on the road. Last 3 yrs (2017-19) he has:

1.065 OPS at home
0.841 OPS on the road

Rendon, last 3 yrs (2017-19):

0.968 OPS at home
0.937 OPS on the road

Good point about the Mile High upping his numbers.

Found this on Dodgers reddit:

Quote:

Treinen's ERA in odd years: 3.86, 3.93, 4.91

Treinen's ERA in even years: 2.49, 2.28 0.78

A lot of smoke that a Rendon signing with the Angels could be imminent. Maybe the Dodgers just don't have the stomach to close one of these huge free agents with Friedman. You have to be willing to overpay to land star free agents, and it's just that simple. This regime seemingly is OK spending money on iffy players that have risk as long as it isn't a long-term deal, but isn't willing to land stars if it means the contract could be awful on the back-end...even though getting that star for their prime could make the team so much better.

It's disappointing.

One thing we can hang our hat on is during this regime, we haven't regretted losing out on a free agent yet.

Doesn't look like it's going to happen this year.

Mookie Betts or JT Realmuto next year? I doubt it.

not gonna happen on either account. have we learned enough already from the Friedman regime? they take pleasure of bargain hunting ex-all stars came off injuries than actually spend like a big market team.

The Dodgers, still in on Gerrit Cole and Anthony Rendon, have met with Scott Boras, their agent, at the winter meetings and are scheduled to meet with him again today, per source. The Angels also have a meeting scheduled today.

Not sure why you say it's not gonna happen.
Unless they get outbid by NY or the Rangers by a ridiculous amount, I can see one or both happening.

Yup, now you know why people were predicting Dodgers don't sign any tier 1 FAs.

Same story every year.

Now the happiest guy on earth is Andrew Friedman, finally the tier 1 FAs are gone, now he can do what he does best which is bargain hunting with a boatload of cash.

We found ourselves a broken closer so far. Let's see if we can patch him up with some duct tape and superglue.

Who's going to be our Brandon McCarthy, Scott Kazmir, AJ Pollock, Joe Kelly, or Sergio Romo this year?

Also another reason to get your kid into baseball....

You're gonna love giving MadBum $100 M

Well considering the DBacks are mentioned as offering him 70 million and Dodgers might be preparing that 100 million offer, is he really going to turn down 30 million just for spite?

Front office is a joke. We've been missing a reliable right handed power bat for years. Getting Rendon would've allowed turner to shift over to first. They seem to just want to look like they were in the hunt but are too cheap to go for broke.

yeah, regarding the inconsistent playoff bats..

That has to change for us to win. We can't/weren't going to correct that through free agency.

We might need to sign some trashcans.

So the Dodgers didn't even make Rendon an offer because they believed "he didn't want to play in Los Angeles"...and then he signs to play in Anaheim LOL.

We just don't have the stomach to shell out massive cash for the star free agents. I swear, if we end up signing MadBum for $100MM, I'm going to be livid.

I think that rumor that the Dodgers went over $300M for Cole was a load of bologna too.

Weird that the Dodger didnt make an offer to Rendon.
Word is they felt Rendon didnt want in.
At that point what can you do. Very disappointing.

On to next year. Where I'll still be hoping we get a tier 1 if need be.

If this is some play by Boras to keep Ryu in L.A., I'm going to be sick.

They still seem to play well in the season. We need some playoffs killers on the team.

Watch the Dodgers give 34-year-old Donaldson 4 years for over $30MM per. Nope, won't give the 30-year-old (next year) Rendon 7 years, but let's pay for a guy's age 34/35/36/37 seasons who isn't as good! We save money, yay!

Seriously, he has a somewhat checkered recent injury history, so I guess he fits into what Friedman looks for perfectly.

Yes, I'm annoyed at the Dodgers right now. Forgive the rant.
