Vacate division titles but keep the WS title? |

What are you gonna have them do? Replay the world series again? Its just not feasible to strip away the world series title. _________________ Don't let perfect be the enemy of good |

Whatever the solution is, taking away a division title but leaving the WS title seems like an odd one.
The Astros would take that punishment 10/10 times.
If that’s the actual punishment, it’d probably be better to let them keep the division titles.
It just makes MLB look worse to take away the division titles but keep the WS title.
Are you also saying that a WS title can never be stripped away no matter what?
Let’s say the Astros admit that they actually stole signs using a camera? They admit it. Mlb still can’t strip away a title?
Or let’s say they admit that they bribed the umpires. Surely, there could be a case where MLB can strip away a title?
We can also see how other sports leagues handle it
1) The NCAA strips away titles, but I don’t think they award the title to another team
2) The Olympics strips away medals n they give it to someone else
3) The Tour de France does the same thing
Quote: | The Trojans’ undefeated 2004 season, which was capped by a 55-19 victory over Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl, has been wiped from the books. The B.C.S. said no champion would be recognized for that season.

I’m down with no champion for 2017 |

Seems like the Dodgers have been on the wrong side of recent history when it comes to players and teams doing things the wrong way...
Matt Kemp loses out on his MVP due to a roider.
Dodgers lose out on a World Series due to a shady MLB organization doing whatever it takes to win. |

Plus even if the Dodgers were awarded the victory, it seems rather hollow, no celebration, awards, parade, fanfare that follows a championship. If the MLB finds it to be true, the 2017 season would basically be an incomplete. |

MLB is gutless. I don't expect anything. Legit (bleep) houston and all their sports teams. _________________ Don't let perfect be the enemy of good |

I actually think there will be ramifications from this. Just not a surrendering of the 2017 World Series title. What's done is done and it's not like anything can make us feel better as Dodger fans. Even if they gave us the championship, which would never happen, but even if they did, it would feel hollow. As has already been noted. |

I'd feel better if Houston's title was vacated. At least that means we didn't lose to Houston. |

It was still awful managing by Roberts to leave him in for as long as he did in Game 7--there's no tomorrow and they were squaring him up from the jump--but it does at least give him a bit of an excuse as to why he got shelled twice in that series. |

IIRC, Yu was pretty lights out against the defending champion Cubs.
I wonder if this plays a role in Kershaw game 5? He was dealing in games 1 and 7 at Dodger Stadium. |

And don't forget them getting Aroldis Chapman and then immediately voiding the trade once the domestic abuse allegations came out.
And I believe he helped the Cubs win the WS that season. |

This is encouraging. I'm gonna believe that the FO makes an effort to make a splash. I'm just curious who AF is looking at the most. |

You know you may be on to something with Kershaw.
He is a very deliberate pitcher, especially when men are on base. He's got a pretty long windup and the thing he does putting his arms in the air from the stretch that would provide ample time to relay signs. |

What this means, or could mean, is that all the anger and frustration we had and have for Kersh and Kenley for letting the team and the fans down, is misapplied.
There is still anger and frustration, but redirected. I am both relieved and "re-angered" that the team may have been cheated, and further angered that Houston caused me to doubt the players.
Just think how Kersh and Kenley might be thinking about this. |

Kershaw was provided 7 runs in Game 5. He still walked back-to-back hitters with a 3-run lead with 2 outs and nobody on in the 5th. He spit the bit, period. |

The only ones actually defending this are like a small contigent of astro fans. Even their real fans feel shame and disgust. _________________ Don't let perfect be the enemy of good |

This is different from individual players using steroids. Everyone had to know what was going on in that dugout from the coach on down. MLB should send a message on this, strip them of their title, tell the players they are no longer champions and if they want to become champions they’ll have to do it the right way. |

The teams they beat in the playoffs should get those draft picks. And the Dodgers should get some firsts for being cheated the worst. It won’t even come close to fixing this, but it’s a start and they owe Dodger fans (and even fans of other teams like the Yankees and Indians). |

Yep, everyone in the organization pretty much participated if true. I just wonder what punishment the MLB is going to hand down. |

Andy McCullough
@ByMcCullough
Make of this what you will: Chase Utley studied Yu Darvish's starts in the World Series, and reported back to Andrew Friedman that Darvish was not giving off pitch-tipping cues.
